Topic: RE: Compression shirts in Hawaii?
A compression shirt is a tight-fitting shirt made of spandex or some other stretchy material. They are very breathable and are usually worn under a regular rugby jersey. They are excellent moisture managing garments and can help wick moisture away from the body more efficiently, keeping the player cooler and drier. These shirts cut down on excess muscle vibration which can cause extra fatigue as well as prevent chafing. Compression shirts also keep the body slightly warmer to prevent injury to the muscles and joints. Some compression shirts are also made for cold weather and keep the body extra warm during play.

For us gastric bypass people it's like a girdle, especially with all that extra skin and jiggly goodness.  It's embarassing, at least to me.  I need to compress everything from my thighs to my neck to keep everything from jiggling. Without the spandex, things like jumping jacks are really uncomfortable when the skin gets flapping.

did you do all your other tests yet? i just got  my approval for surgery last week tuesday. YAY!!!!!!!!! and just waiting for DERA to give me a call back with my appt dates. it's gonna be about the same time as yours or the beginning of nov. i think.  she's gonna try and see if i can do an overnight thing since i'm off island too. i'm so excited girl, seems like a long wait, but i'm trying to be patient, but its SOOOOOO hard. anyway, congrats to you and good luck!  and yeah, HMSA is the bomb. they paid for my trip over there earlier this month. i did an overnight thing. went to the seminar and my consult the next day. but the HMSA travel coordinator was cool. i was really worried about being on the plane in those small seats and dealing with the embarrassment. my friend told me to call hawaiian air cause she heard that they make you buy 2 seats if you're really big (like me), and sure enough. i called the day before my flight, and HMSA was closed already for the day, i was so depressed and panicked. i worked a half day the next day and at 8am sharp i was on that phone to hmsa. i explained the situation to them and was told the travel coordinator would call the airlines to see if they had any seats available(the flight was super packed), and WHOO HOO, she called me back w/i 15 min to tell me everything was allright and it was good to go. so at least now i know and no more problems in that area. but yeah, thank GOD  allright. its all just a fricken adventure..............

Topic: Question for those who already had WLS
Por Favor,

What do you eat during the holidays? I haven't had WLS.... but was wondering if it's awkward during the holidays with family gatherings and all...

Are you feeling like a deprivied child looking at the cookie jar above the refridgerator? Or is everything pretty chill?

Just curious
