I am in desperate need of an endocrinologist who is familiar with long-term issues connected with bariatric surgery.  In the Fort Wayne area would be ideal but at this point, I would travel a distance if I could find a knowledgeable dr. who could help.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi Annette,

I just happened on your post and wanted to let you know that I do know of a wonderful endocrinologist in the Cincinnati area.  It is certainly a distance from you but she's very knowledgeabe.

She's very involved in the bariatric community through research, which is how I know her.  I've been in a couple of studies about post-RNY patients and reactive hypoglycemia.  She knows her stuff!

Her name is Dr. Salehi, University of Cincinnati Hospital.  I know you can get her email or phone number off their website.  If nothing else, perhaps she could recommend someone closer in your area.

Thanks so much!  I'll check into her.  I'm willing to drive a distance if needed.

I've been seeing an endocrinologist in Fort Wayne for last 8 years and I'm 26 months post RNY.  His name in Ashok Kadambi.  I wouldn't say he is a bariatric specialist, but he has worked with me before and since my RNY.  His office is in the Jefferson Point area.

You could meet with him and see what you think.  There is another MD there, but I've never seen him.  You can PM me if you want any specific info.
