First things first..."what the heck is a Pouch Party™ ?"
You logged on, you voted, some of you even created catchy “campaign" banners (ahem…coughcough…PAM!) and the votes are in!
Michigan/Illinois/Indiana won the final slot in the Pouch Party ™ 2011 nationwide tour.
So what the heck happens next?
Well, if you are from any of these states and you think your surgical practice might be interested in hosting a Pouch Party™ event, hit us up! And if you’re interested in planning, email us as well.
At this point, we’re still determining the exact dates and locations but we know we’ll need LOTS of help to make this happen.
To the folks in the other two regions – we will get to you soon! Until then, keep playing with your food! And thanks for voting!

Anyone else having their surgery tomorrow? Pam
Very glad to hear you are doing OK Now. That could have been serious! We do have to learn to listen, don't we. I have been having some strange aches and can feel lumps in my old stomach area on the right side. I think possible hernias? I see my DR next week and will bring it up then. Not really any pain, just tender and touchy.

My niece just had RNY in February and is doing wonderfully.
However, I have read a lot about complications here on this site, and want to PLEASE hear more so I can make an informed decision.
I'm considering having the surgery before 12/31/10.
Thanks!
Theresa
It was always hard to get by the holidays before surgery without gaining weight with all those temptations at every turn and corner. Parties and get togethers might be even more stressful for you since surgery. I am interested in all of us sharing ideas of ways to make it thru the holiday party schedule and meals without getting into "trouble".
Please feel free to share your thoughts on here so we can all benefit them.
My first and easiest suggestion is to take your own small dishes to eat from whenever you can. I know my family provides the "plates with sideboards" for all the meals and that is just way to tempting and will only cause me more grief than its worth!
Second suggestion is plan ahead! Take your own lunch pack if you need to... early out it may be just SF jello and broth... but you are still able to socialize... so don't stress too much about what will be provided .... just take your own!
Anyone else got helpful hints?
Thanks, Tracy
