Topic: Need a Surgeon for follow up issue
I recently moved to Terre Haute, IN from Missouri.  I had my surgery February 2008 and sadly the surgeon that performed my RNY in Missouri has quit his practice to teach.  I am having some problems and need to find a new surgeon.
I'm not sure if anyone else has these symptoms, but in the middle of the night, I get really bad chest pains.  I cant breathe and the pain is horrendous.  They hurt so bad that many times I break out in a sweat and last anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes.  Seems like if I "sleep" sitting up, it doesnt happen as often.  The pain has gotten so bad that i am afraid to fall asleep sometimes.  It doesnt happen everynight so I never know when I am going to have an "attack".  My regular doctor though that I was having anxiety attacks and put me on anti-freak out meds, but they never worked.  Then I began to wonder if there was an issue with my new tummy.  I need someone to talk to and give me a full checkup.  I was hoping that someone knows a surgeon that is really good that they could recommend.

Thanks for any advice or recommendations,
Angeline

Topic: Incisional Hernia Anyone?
So back in May I had emergency surgery for an intussusception, while 30 weeks preggo mind you. ( See story here http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/IN/4171885/Was-heading-to- my-baby-shower-and-ended-up-in-E-Surgery/)

So I go in today for a consult with Dr. Bergman for a tummy tuck. While feeling around on my tummy she says, wow did you know you have a hernia?  Had not clue.  I thought that was just the way the scar healed from the surgery in May plus just having a baby etc.  Now I know why my jeans dont fit right, ha!

Just wondering if anyone else has had one.  I have to call Dr. C this afternoon and get in to see her.  Good news is Dr. B said they could fix it and do the tummy tuck at the same time.

Topic: RE: pre op testing question
Hi!  I have calmed down about it.  I got all my records from my cardiologist here and it specifically says there is nothing wrong with my heart.  I have chronic Chostocondritis (arthritis of the chest).  So when it is bad (chest pain), everyone thinks I am having a heart attack.  I've had 3 nuclear tests and they were all normal.  (my insurance paid for those because of the diagnoses "chest pain".)  So if he wants nuclear, I am going to really persuade him not too. I'll really be glad when I get past that day (Nov. 8th - testing and exam) and get my surgery (Nov. 17th).  I'm going to my all day NUT/Nurse class this Thursday.  I'm excited about that.  My daughter is having RNY Nov. 3rd so I'll be with her in the hospital and that should make my surgery a lot easier.  I won't  have that "fear of the unknown" factor going on.  Thanks for your encouragement.

I wondered that too Kim, but The other site seems to be more active.  Also you need to be a member I think to be on the other site.  Not sure why that matters, , but I have seen more activity there than on this one.
