I am over 5 years since my RNY. I still don't regret it..I am doing thing I was not able to do prior to surgery. I felt the RNY was right for me because I don't have much in the will power department and Ineeded something a little more that would help me.The only thing I do regret is ever trying to see if sweets really makeme dump...now I know what I can get away with...
I have a friend that just LOVES Dr Clark. she and her husband had him do their surgery, and swear by him.
Keep up your research.. enjoy your journey and reach out to be the best you can be!! Much Success.

I do not know anything about St Francis Weight Loss Center or Dr, Steven Clark. I do know when I lived in Indy that was my hospital of choose. Its a good thing that you are worried, if you were not then I would be scared. Any type of weight loss procedure is scary, and only you can make the right choose for you. I have had the RNY asnd then I had a revision. I can say this much it was the right choose for me and it gave me my life back. I believe that without taking the weight off I would not be here typing this post today. I have lost about 150 lbs, would like to take off another 75 to 100 lbs that would put around the 175 to 200 mark. That is were so many people start. I was 413 lbs the day I came home from the hospital and had so many health issues. It has helped me to get mt health under control and able to enjoy walking anywhere and not think of it as a chore. I particapte in local walks for charities, and I competed in a indoor trialthon in February at the local YMCA, and I finished after I did a walk that was called a "mile in my shoes" its a local walk for the homeless. I felt wonderful because before ny RNY I had trouble walking across the length of my home.
Go to the support group and get all the information that you can about the differnt procedures and choose what is best for you.

Leah,
Hi! Just saw your post and wanted to let you know that Turkle and Ass. in Indy would probably take Anthem. When I had my accident they did skin grafting for me and I had Anthem. The doctor who did it was Elizabeth Grasse and she was really good. Might check out Anthem online to see who is in network for your plan. Hope you are doing well! I am great! Good Luck!

Newbie here and I was wondering if anyone knows much about St.Francis weight loss Center and Dr. Steven Clark? I Have went to orientation and going next week to a support group. I'm kinda worried about the RNY surgery since I keep hearing negative things from people but they have not done any research on it just like to blurt out their opinions. So any info would help! Thanks

Topic: RE: DS performed by Dr. Inman?
it will be 2 years on the 29th since dr inman did my ds. i have not had any problems with her in particular- she and karen(her nurse) really listen to what you have to say. i did have some problems initally with the the lady that submits everything to insurance but everything turned out fine. the only complications i have had is some terrible heartburn, low iron and my weight loss slowed alot for about 9 months just a little over a year out but i figued out it was because i wasnt getting enough protien. a few months ago i added protien shakes back into my diet and the weight started coming off again. i have lost about 15 lbs in the last 2-3 months which is awesome since i am almost 2 years out and less than 7 lbs from goal. the best advice i can give you is this: visit the ds forum and ask lots of question and when you think you know everything there is to know just stick around cause even at 2 years out i still come up with questions to ask the ds veterans. good luck!

I coming too!!!!! I am bringing Alta and Snapefantasy. Can't wait. I can't wait to meet new OHers from Indiana and a lot of the others from the other boards. I need some more knowledge now too. I have made both of my goals and now just want to keep losing. I also have been told that I look good enough and don't need to lose any more, but for me, it is all a numbers game now. The game is on!!!

I heard at a support group that she is the only one at St V doing DS. Why? The person I talked to got a December date last month. I'm just starting insurance, hoping to do a 90 day program, and I'm afraid my insurance might flop again and not cover WLS next year.
I don't want to start a DS vs RNY war. I've done A LOT of research and I know the DS would work better for me.
thanks!
