I haven't noticed if you have posted on the reg. band section. Someone there might know or have had the same problems. They are helpful. Seems someone alway knows about something there.

Topic: RE: so mamacatks, how was your meeting?
Have you discussed it with your reg. dr.?
I didn't have any issues really ,except just being over 100lbs more than I should. I knew though that I would start having problems as my feet and also my knee was beginning to hurt. I think it would be down hill from there. I am lucky no other health issues but i felt this was preventative but have been so amazed at the reversal of health problems with wt. loss. I know some people that are over wt. that keep going to dr. for problems when actually wt loss would really take care of it.
Keep me posted. I have a good friend that has fibrom. It sure bothers her sometimes.
good luck. I did find the seminar interesting. Lots of people were there when I went.

Thanks for asking! :) Dr. Hu kinda cut me off on discussing WLS until I attend one of the Tallgrass information sessions at St. Francis, so I'll go Feb. 9th and then she said we'll go from there. She is worried about if I should get WLS since I have rheumatoid arthritis. But I have to... I'll figure out a way around the NSAIDS issue somehow.
Topic: OT: Ouch!
OK, some of this is OT, some of it isn't...
Ouch! because where Dr. Hu removed the (hopefully not cancerous) bump on my leg Tuesday, I ended up busting one of the stitches loose. 4 kids with tons of activities--sure, I'll take it easy...
and Ouch! because where she lanced and drained an infected stretch mark, it hurts!!! I called the office yesterday when it soaked my pants with more drainage and they told me if it's not red, it's OK. Well, I can't see down there, of course. DH says it's not red, but it's like a hard knot. What worries me is that i'm on methotrexate shots for my rheumatoid arthritis, which shuts down my immune system. Since last night my temp has been hovering around 99.4. DH says where Dr. Hu drained it, now the skin is all wrinkled and saggy, so he wonders if some of my bulk there is infection instead of fat.
I'm afraid when I do get WLS I'm just going to keep getting infections in all these stretch marks, and my immune system is shot anyway.
I'm going to the TSS seminar on Feb. 9th to learn all I can.

did all go well with your meeting Tues. Remember this is a great site and people can answer many questions so don't be afraid to ask.

Topic: RE: Getting Back On Track
Hi Theresa,
I'm just offering my support too. I am working at getting back on track. I've managed to drop the first 141 pounds and want to get those last 25 pounds off. So far, I'm convinced that these will be the hardest to get off. I've been enjoying my new life just a little TOO much. I am just keeping the focus of slow and steady and just following the rules the best I can. I make a lot of mistakes and have learned a lot along the way.
Keep up the great work.
John
Topic: RE: New in KS
Andrea,
Welcome to Eastern Kansas. You will find that the Tallgrass group really has their act together. They will treat you right and very professionally. I had some of the same concerns as you, I have 5 kids and didn't want any complications. Fortunately, I have had a great experience.
Get as healthy as you can and even try to lose some weight prior to the surgery....studies are showing that early weight loss is an indicator or long-term success. Tallgrass will just tell you not to gain...they just don't want you to eat like it is your last meal. It is best to start learning some of the new techniques that you will have to practice anyway.
I invite you to my profile as I have blogged my way through the entire process. It might give you some insight as to what thoughts will be going through your head at various times.
Best wishes to you.
John
