Topic: Getting Back On Track
Hi Everyone,
Well, I've given myself a swift kick in the behind, and today is day 1 of my 5 day pouch test. I know my pouch is working, however, I figured this would be the best way for me to get myself back on the straight and narrow, since it's basically taking me back to eating like after I first had my surgery. I'm almost 1/2 way through day 1 and am happy to say, I haven't even thought of cheating, and know that as long as I can make myself drink all the water I will feel good. Wish me luck, and I'll keep you posted!!
Hugs
Theresa

Topic: RE: Any KS Medicaid people?
Iris,
I'm sorry, I don't know the reason why. I know that when they became a "Center for Excellence", they really had a backlog of medicaid individuals who had been waiting in the wings for thier shot at this "most excellent opportunity".

MJT,
Thanks for the welcome! The surgeon I am being sent to Tuesday is with the Tallgrass group, Dr. Hu. I'm nervous and impatient at the same time...

Hi Andrea,
Welcome. I went to tallgrass in Topeka. They are really great. I work with sp ed students. They are great.
good luck in your journey. This is a great site. Lots of great info here. Not much goes on here in the specific Kansas site but the general lap band board is great, along with the Kansas one.
Topic: New in KS
Hello! My name is Andrea and I recently moved from western KS to eastern KS. I had to go on disability in 2005 (was a special ed teacher) when my rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia finally got the best of me. My weight problem started in 1995 when I was 26, and now I'm up to 251 with a BMI of 38.2. Now that I'm on Medicare, I'm going to be going to a surgeon Tuesday in Topeka to discuss possible surgery. I'm nervous--we've got 4 kids and recovery and lifestyle changes will be challenging, but it has to be done. I don't need anymore complications!
I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Topic: RE: lap band doc near Salina KS?
they now do lap band surgery in Junction city. I think they do fills at a wt. loss center in Wichita.
Tallgrass in Topeka are great. do lots of them and great staff. KC would be your next closes.
I know my dr. (in the Salina area) has said he wishes there was some dr. that do this.

Theresa,
Thanks so much for your prayers . I'm just going to try and drink liquids for a couple of
days and see if that helps or not if it doesn't guess i'll call the doctor that did the fill . Thaks
