Ditto....I would love to see an area support group. I'm lap band...but lap band, RNY, we all have the same issues besides the fact that our surgeries were different. Food issues, exercise, relationships, etc. etc. Say the word and I'll be there!

Mike ~ I would be very interested. I am tired of going to support group and hardly getting past the who I am, what I have lost, do I have any problems. I thought support group was going to be more then just that. I am really wanting to get more into the support part. I would really like to talk more about things that I feel a support group should be. I thought a support group was to be more like giving information on different topics that would give us true support vs what each other has lost, etc, etc, etc.... I think it is important to a certain point but not as important as other things we could be talking about. Let me know if this is something that I can help with.

Topic: Wichita Support Group
Hello Kansans,
I am interested in finding out how many people would be interested in a Wichita Support Group that was not afilliated with any one Hospital or surgeons group. I'm thinking that there may be other like mind individuals who might like to put together a local support group without it being connected to any surgery program. I am thinking of a more patient and peer group. One that would get together and discuss issues not currently being addressed.
I also don't think it needs to be just RNY vs. Banders, but more anyone who wants to share experiences and talk to others. Let me know what you think. If there is enough interest maybe we could set something up for the first of the year.
Thanks
