Hello all! I just thought I would share a wow/embarrassing/funny moment I had yesterday. I was in Walgreen's innocently looking for batteries when I felt a sneeze coming. I put my hand over my mouth and ACHOO! My jeans fell down!  I grabbed quickly and was able to catch them mid-way! Two ladies witnessed the 'event' and began laughing, as did I!  I just told them I have been losing weight. The one lady, still laughing, said, "I could tell!" Needless to say, I kept a finger in my belt loop the rest of my time in the store! I have decided to keep those jeans for my 'after' pix! Have a great Sunday, you all! LaNeta

Debbie, I am so glad that you responded to my post.  I actually work in Olathe so the drive doesn't bother me.  I have been to the Olathe YMCA and I really like the facility.  I would love to get together and go to class with you on those days.  I only work part-time so I'm pretty flixable too.  If you want I can meet you there just let me know?  Is that class that your going to is it a low intensity class?  I won't be able to go Mon. evening though I have a WLS support group in Lees Summit at 7pm so maybe Wed.? I am curious you said you had your first appt. with Dr. H last Oct. but didn't have your surgery until March was that your choice or were they really that far behind in scheduling surgery?  I hope I don't have to wait 5 months to get surgery I have already waited a long time to do this.  I will have my 6 mo dr. supervised diet completed on Oct. 6th so that will be out of the way.   I want to go to the MO Board reunion in Branson but  I would have to make it a day trip because of my dogs and it's a little far to drive there and back in one day so I'm still not sure yet what I'm doing are you going?  I look forward to hearing from you again.  Take care.

Hi, Bev! I had my lap rny 3/5/07 with Dr. Hornbostel.  I live in Gardner and have started water aerobics at the YMCA in Olathe.  I'm going 3 times per week.  I usually go Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 8:30 am.  However, today and Monday I will have to go to the 5:15pm class due to appointments.  I saw your post a few weeks ago just wasn't sure if you would want to travel to Olathe to workout.  I have lost 92 lbs and have 18 lbs go to reach my goal.  I've been having upper back pains and after a gallbladder sonagram came back okay, was told it was muscles and needed to be stretched.  I just started the water aerobics this week and have notice a tremendous difference in my back pain. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting me at the Olathe YMCA for water aerobics.  I'm a stay at home Mom so I'm pretty flexible.  Just prefer mornings because both my kids are in school. If I remember right you have your first apt with Dr. H in October.  I had my first apt with him last October then surgery this March.  It's been the best decision I've ever made in regards to my heatlh. Look forward to hearing from you soon, Debbie D. P.S.  Are you going to the reunion the MO Board is having in Branson?

I live in Johnson County and I am in desperate need of an exercise buddy.  I have to lose 35 lbs before surgery due to a few health issues.  If you would be interested in exercising a few days a week please let me know.  I have tried exercising on my own but I think I would do better and be more consistant if I had someone to exercise with?   Thanks,

Hi Pack, I really think that this Tallgrass group has it all together. I had Dr. Steward but they all seem to do great work and you hear only good things about them. Dr. Hamilton has had the surgery himself so he is really able to relate to his clientel. Good luck and I hope your approval process is a smooth one. John
