She does NOT get to decide when you need a fill. Yes, we should be eating more healthy and making a new lifestyle for ourselves...BUT.....we did not pay all this money to do it strictly on our own! You need your band (your TOOL) to be filled in order to help you and to keep your portion sizes in check without having to CONSTANTLY think about it like you do on a regular DIET. I say get your fill and get it NOW!!!! You won't enjoy the true benefit of the band until you do.

Hmmm!! Bogey's! I haven't been there in a few years, but I know it is a popular spot! You should come see our new underground salt museum. It is just a half mile from our house, but we haven't been there yet, but some day soon! Have a great weekend!LaNeta

Thanks for that information LaNeta and good luck on your journey. You had to go quite a ways from Hutch to Columbia. Hutch makes me think of Boogeys, I love their shakes.
Topic: RE: Who is your surgeon?
Hello there! I had to travel to Columbia, MO from Hutchinson for surgery, but am happy with the results. (My insurance wouldn't cover any facility closer, it had to be a bariatrics for excellence center). Anyway, a close friend had surgery with Dr Hamilton last year, and was very pleased with her results! She had no problems, and lost 150#! Good luck! It seems like a long journey, but it is well worth it! Hugs, LaNeta
Topic: When to get a fill?
I have scheduled my first fill for August 27th. That is almost three months after my surgery which was June 5th. My patient consultant has told me that I do not need one because I have continued to lose weight. I even told her that I do not feel any restriction and that the weight I have lost has been because of the strict diet I have put myself on. I know I cant stick to it forever or else I would not have had surgery. Can anyone relate to this and if so what can you tell me to help me out?
Topic: RE: Who is your surgeon?
Thanks for letting me know Amie. I havn't been able to find too many people that have had Dr. Hamilton but when I met with him he seemed to be a very nice guy not like a lot of doctors out there. Now if I can just get the insurance company to get their heads on straight I might be getting somewhere. I called them today and they told me they haven't recieved any paperwork from my doctor's office which was sent over two weeks ago. My doctor's nurse assured me she did but she will send again.
Topic: RE: Hi all
I had my bypass in Topeka with Dr. Steward. All of the surgeons at Tallgrass are excellent and committed to the success of their patients. It might be a drive - but the support group meetings are great too.
Topic: RE: Who is your surgeon?
My surgeon was Dr. Steward also and Dr. Dunshee assisted. Hamilton did the 1st seminar I attended and I really thought he was a good guy. My friend had Hamilton for lap-band and she did fine.
I think the Tallgrass group is excellent and committed to the long term success of their pateints.

I was wondering about the support group in Wichita, too. I've not heard anything more about it. I see you're going to KC at the end of the month for their seminar! I know it's a drive up there, but let me tell you, after being through a couple of the other programs...I think it's well worth it!
