Topic: Starting a Support group in Wichita!!
Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to start a support group in Wichita. I got the lapband on 3/22/07. If anyone is interested send me a message. It does not have to be just for bandsters. Everyone is welcome! Thanks and I look forward to hearing from all of you! Kelli

I attended a seminar at the end of February and I could have had my surgery as early as the first part of May. However, my busy time at my job is in May so I chose to wait until June for my surgery.

Thanks you guys! I really am feeling a little better tonight. I called Kimberly and she was kind enough to talk me through some things. I should have done it sooner, called someone. It really did make me feel better. I had just done so well in the hospital, no problems at all. And expected life to be back to somewhat normalcy by now. Oh yea, I just had my insides re-routed, what is normal?? Right! HA HA!!!! I will try to make it to the Tues meeting. Thanks Mike for the info on the surgery itself. It was my nurse who assumed it was from the shots. It does help to know what I am experiencing is not just me! Thanks again………..

Hey Holly
Yes it is HOT out there and I hate summer.
I am so looking forward to fall and the cooler weather. I know I too should be out moving my butt but I just cannot stand the heat. Even in the morning when it is in the 60's the 90%+ humidity keeps me in. I am still picking at my food too. I have been really really tired lately and can't seem to make myself get to the store long enough to get something other than single things that I can eat and that is getting very old very fast.
Hubby has to go to a doctors appt on Wednesday for suspected beginning stages of diabetes. So we are both going to have to get our butts busy and plan some healthier menu's.
Hope you have a good week...
Hugs

Crys,
I did have alot of brusing from the navel down. I was told that it was because the instrument that they use at that site does not have a cutter on it and they have to pu**** throught the muscle. It did take about three weeks for that brusing to go away. I don't think that it hurt all that much, however the further I get out the less I remember about the bad stuff. Glad to hear that you did well at the Hospital. Like you said this two will pass.
Best wishes,
Mike

Topic: RE: GOOD MORNING KANSAS!! WHAT IS NEW WITH YOU!!
Hello everyone. My name is Sheila and I live south of Topeka. I am currently going through all the steps. I went to my first seminar in June. I have been thinking about having WLS for several years and I have done my research. Anyway my BMI is 47 and I am miserable with Heart condition from Redux use, diabetes type II, gout, arthritis in my legs and back, hypertension, and currently being tested for sleep apnea. I have had my Psych eval and passed. I have seen the surgeon for my first consult and he said I would be a perfect candidate for the Roux en Y due to my diabetes. I am currently waiting for a date to do a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea than it is on to insurance approval. I am very scared that they are not going to approve. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama through Healthsouth. Please keep me in your prayers that they approve me. A little about me, I have been a nurse for approx 20 years. I have been married for 22 wonderful years. My husband and I have 3 beautiful children. Erik 21, Eddie 20, and Heather 17. I will soon add a daughter in law in April 2008. Were going to Maui for the wedding. I would love to be a lot smaller and to feel better for this trip. I love the Chiefs. I love to read, do scrapebooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with my family and friends. Thank you for all your support. Your WLS Friend, Sheila

I attended a seminar towards the end of March and had all of my records from my doctors in by mid-April. Insurance approval came at the end of May, around Memorial Day.
