DONNA ~  Sorry I have not talked to you since Tuesday.  It has been crazy around here.   On July 4th we went to some friends house and it was a good night, Thursday went out to Wild West World and that is a story I got to tell you about, Friday recovered from Thursday and Saturday we went to the lake.   That was probably my most fun day.... played in the water, laid on the boat and watched the clouds....it was relaxing.  I am home so if you need to talk during the day in order to make it through since you have gone back to work you can call me at home or on my cell.   Take care honey....   LYLAS Kimberly

Topic: RE: Let's liven up this message board!
LaNeta hi to you and all of our fellow Kansas WLS group.  I live south of Topeka in a small town of Carbondale.  I am looking into WLS and hope and pray to have it soon.  I also have diabetes and it worries my so much.  I worked as a Rehab Nurse and I see the complications from this disease every day from strokes, amputations, sores etc.  My heart goes out to these people each and every day.  I weigh 274#  and I find it very hard to get through each day.  To compound my diabetes I developed heart trouble from taking Redux approx.  10 years ago.  I am so afraid that my insurance is not going to pay it is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and they tell me that my company has a written clause about WLS and they don't cover it.  Anyway enough of the sad things.  I love the KC Chiefs and watch every game I can and I love going to Arrowhead.  I have lived in Kansas most of my life.  My bestfriend lives in Inman just north of Hutch.  I love photography.  I love my 2 Boston Terriers.  I have been married to the love of my life for 22 years and we have 3 beautiful children Erik 21, Eddie 20, and Heather 17.  I do also want to get this message board more active.  I also enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, and watching women's softball.  God Bless and well talk soon.  Sheila

Topic: I JUST SAW YOUR PRAIRIE, KANSAS!!!
I helped my son, the drummer*, and his sweetheart caravan their household from Atlanta to Ft. Collins, Colorado a few weeks ago and spent 2 days driving from St. Louis to Denver on I-70 West and WOW! I fell in love with the prairie landscape. Especially the sunset we were treated to as we pulled into Hays, KS for the night. OhmyGod! (That was a prayer, folks. I mean it!) Now that I've driven through your spectacular state, I know that Greeley, Colorado (just a tad north of Denver) is just a hop, skip and a jump away for many of you. (I mean, c'mon, the POSTED speed limit is 75 mph!!!) So here's my personal invitation to you, darlin', to come to Greeley, Colorado Aug. 11-12 and participate in my free workshops and personal coaching consults as part of the Rocky Mt. Summit on Obesity. You can get all the details at:  www.obesityandme.com If you'd like a FREE reprint of my article in OH Magazine,  "HOW TO OVERCOME SELF-SABOTAGE" just email me and it's yours. Hope to meet you in Greeley next month! Lovingly, Lauralyn *You can groove on my son, the drummer, by visiting www.myspace.com/lukeemig

Topic: RE: Back to work

Boy, three weeks. I had the lap band on june 5th and was back to work on june 9th. I did struggle for awhile though. We opened a restaurant and our still in our infant stage. So I felt as though I needed to be there. This was my fourth week post-op and the first week I have really felt energized and truly motivated. What a good feeling it is.

Remenber to take it slow and not to push yourself. Good luck with your recovery. Billy F.
