I'm finally banded!!! My surgery was quite uneventful. I don't know about anyone else, but my surgery was scheduled for 8:30 am on 10/27 and I was on the road home by 11a.m.!! Please don't anyone faint!! I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't experienced it myself. I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort until well into Thursday and even then it was only at the port sight because it is larger than the other incisions. But it was nothing that wasn't bearable. My doctor has me on clear fluids (broth, tea, water, gatorade, sugar free jello) for 2 weeks, then on to mushies for another 2 weeks. God willing that everything turns out ok and I'll be able to eat a little something for Thanksgiving. (It's not like there won't be tons of leftovers!!) I have had alot of burping, which I assume comes from the gas they use to expand your tummy for surgery. It's almost non-existent now. I'd appreciate any feedback on this next observation. On my fluid I tend to feel full after maybe 2- 3 ounces. Would this be restriction or is it that my stomach is still healing??? Anyways, thanks to everyone for your prayers - I can't say it enough - you guys are the best!!

Your stomach is swollen from the surgery so it's swelling-induced restriction. How much or how little actual real restriction you'll have after the swelling goes down, well, you'll only know once you're back onto solid foods Congrats on a wonderfully uneventful surgery Nancy 394/299/180

Wow! Sounds like you breezed through surgery with flying colors! Congratulations to you and enjoy being on the other side. I am local so maybe we will cross paths someday. Angelene B.
