First Fill and maybe not enough

Hi, I had my first fill yesterday. I am on mushies today and regular food tomorrow. My fill was 2.2cc. That sounds good right? It was done with floroscopy(sp) in the hospital...... She said I was tight. I just ate grits and had 1 package with no problem. I am not so much full as I can feel it not going down. Does this sound right? I am afraid she didn't fill enough. She said it looked quite tight. But I know of people that couldn't eat more than a few spoons of soup after, and I ate a whole can plus the water you add to it of tomato soup last night?????? No problem. Anyway, just asking. I have heard that you are tighter in the am, and I really don't feel all that tight. Should I call or am I just a freak? Thanks

Bobbie, Everyone's experience with the band is different. Some folks lose most of their weight with no fill, others with many fills. Our dr. indicates that the majority of weight loss with his patients occurs after the 3rd fill. We've had 2 and are very happ with the results so far - and our dr has done over 40,000 fills! Hang in there, and give it some time... J & A

My first fill made no difference. I went back about a week later (late July) and got another fill. Been tight ever since. I'm at 1.3 cc's.

It can sometimes take a week for you to notice a difference in your fill amount. It took 2 fills for me to get restriction. In fact the second one was too much and I had an unfill of .2 cc today. It was under fluoro too and looked cool. Sometimes it does take 2+ fills to get good restriction. But give it a few days. Soup compared to meat is a big difference. Kerri

Ok...two things: Most people do not get to adequate restriction with their first fill. Usually takes on average 3-5... You cannot test restriction with soft or liquid foods. Grits and soup will go right through. If they didn't that would be a sign of being way too tight... 2.2cc just sounds like a number...how much YOU need has nothing to do with how much anyone else needs...there are only 3 fill levels that are meaningful: Not Enough, Too Much and Just Right.
