Tomorrow I go for my first fill, 1 day shy of my six weeks and I want to know what to expect. I need to know if it hurts and what is the worst part of it all. My port is really close to the surface and I am told that this will help. Scared and wondering if I did the right thing, I hate needles. Thanks in advance for any help. M

Nope, not a whit...REALLY. My port is very easy to access and my surgeon doesn't even numb me out. By FAR the worst part for me is when she's feeling for the port, cuz I'm EXTREMELY ticklish LOLOL Nancy 394/299/180

Hello M. Gordon, My port is very deep, (have to get through all this blubber) The worst part was the little ***** for the numbing stuff. Just felt kind of strange after that. Seeing that needle sticking out of my tummy was a trip. Honest no pain and no problem I wish all procedures were so easy as far as the needle goes. Not to worry Kriss

M. I have had 2 fills with lidocaine to numb the area, and 2 fills without lidocaine. In the future I with not have them numb the area because the shot for that hurts more than the fill needle.

M- I do not like needles either. Don't look and you will be fine. No problemo, this is the easy part. Are you having it under fluoro? Dana

M, I had 2 fills and 1 unfill so far. The first fill took 3 tries for my surgeon to find the right spot. He didn't numb it at all and it didn't hurt. It was like getting a blood draw. Just a pinch and not for all of them either. The second fill it took 2 tries. Just a pinch and it didn't hurt. Today with my unfill it took one try and I didn't feel it at all. Not sure if you saw my fill pictures before, but you can go to http://photos.yahoo.com/kacisunset look in the fill album. I have pictures from all three times. It really doesn't hurt. You will be fine!!! Kerri

When my friends and co-workers ask me about the fill, the best way I can explain it to where they understand is "it's like giving blood but in reverse" (most everyone of us in our lifetime has given blood) just a slight ***** Jacquie
