I am going in for my first fill in 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me how it feels? The good, the bad and the ugly. I'm just worried if I will able to handle it and if I will be able to go to work the next day.

Hi Gina, Everyone handles pain so differently. Surgeons do fills differently as well. Some with Fluro and some without. I can share my experience with you. He laid me down on a table. He put a pillow under my back. He told me to cross my arms across my chest and lift slightly, like doing a sit -up. He then pushed around with his fingers to find my port. He rubbed alcohol on the area. The needle felt like having blood drawn. Just a pinch. He did not hit it on the first try so he removed the needle, felt around again and went for it. YUP! Got it. He injected 1cc into my 4 cc band. I went back to work right after my appointment. A little sore that night, but no big deal. My first fill has not really helped me at all. I am still hungry about every 2 hours or so. I am working on shear will- power at this point. I called the Dr's office today and changed my 2nd fill appointment from 4 weeks away until 2 1/2 weeks away. I want to get this band working for me. After my second fill, I am going to wait a while and see how I do. I have lost 13lbs in 5 1/2 weeks. The band does help me eat less at a meal, but the food does not stay with me long enough. Hope this helps! Good luck---Gail

Hi Gina; I had my first fill on the 13th. It was pretty easy. The doc had a hard time finding my port, due to scar tissue, so I had to lay on the bed with my feet raised about 6 inches for several very long minutes. I went on liquids for a day and then slowly back to normal. My first fill has been amazing. I don't get really hungry, and I definitely can't overeat. I hope it stays like this for a while. I have the VG band, the doc put in 2cc during surgery and 3cc at the fill. Chelle 291/261/145
