I just broke my plateau and hit -88 (yup... 6 pounds!!!) this morning, just shy of my 10 month bandiversary!! Have to weigh it the next 2 days to count it, but yup - plateau gone. Darn.. if only this LapBand would work....

Good for you, Magpie!  I am so happy for you!  I was just on a long plateau too.  and I am just shy of 9 months out.  Do you think it is normal after you lose 70 pounds or so to plateau some?  I was talking to someone else who is dealing with the same thing.  I just got a fill on January 3, and usually I lose 7 pounds in just a few days after a fill, but I didn't this time.  Weight loss has been hard to come by.  Good luck to you!  I can't wait until we both reach the 100 pound mark!  It is just around the corner, you know! Take care, Sally

Yup, I definitely think it's normal. I think it's the body's way of "rebooting" or something, so to speak.  I did find it helpful to track what I was eating though. A few days I was eating a few too many starburst at school.. LOL.. But the tracking reaffirmed I wasn't going over in calories and I WAS exercising, and that helped me relax a bit with the "this too shall pass" mentality, and it did.. although I did come here and grrrrrrrrrrrrr about it.  I do agree though, after losing more than even 50 lbs, those plateaus are more frequent!

I know I should track what I am eating, but I have been resisting it.  It is not like it is hard work or anything.  I just HATE the idea of keeping a food diary because I have done that on so many diets in the past.  I am trying to "pretend" that  I am not on a diet this time, but  I am just  leading a healthier lifestyle.  However,  I think I will humble myself and give the ole food diary a try.  I know it would be  very informative for me.  I know what you mean  about  being surprised at how many starbursts go down at school.  I went to a conference last week and bought some dove chocolates to "share" with my colleagues.  It was like, "one for you, 5 for me, one for you, 10 for me!"  Man, I hate that!  One other question for you.  You live in Texas and it is probably warmer there than here.  DO you have a hard time drinking all of your water when it is cold outside? I always enjoy your posts>  You are so funny! Thanks, Sally
