Need Pureed Ideas?
Lindsey,
I could have applesauce, No sugar added
cooked vegetables
blenderized fruits
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes
soups meatless
eggs
oatmeal
beans and peas
lowfat cheese
smooth lowfat peanut butter
Cottage cheese with blenderized fruit
Some people do baby food.
I did refried black beans and refried beans with cheese
Some people get rotisseree chicken salad or tuna salad and put in blender with chicken broth. I just posted the Ricotta Bake recipe on Mandys post 2 or 3 post back. Check it out. I lived off of this for quite a while.

I just posted this on another thread, so I'll repost. I started out slow with applesauce and really easy stuff and then moved to other, more involved stuff. I get my fill tomorrow and then next week I'll be on regular softish foods.
I'm just finishing up mushie stage, so here's what I've been living on: scrambled eggs; protein shakes with a small amount of fruit; egg, tuna or chicken salad (very wet); baked ricotta (see bariatriceating.com for recipe); cottage cheese; refried beans wtih salsa juice & cheese; progresso soups pureed (no rice or noodles though); and nearly anything you can puree to applesauce texture. Last night I fixed grilled chicken and roasted veggies for the family. I had it too, but puree'd the veggies and cut up the chicken to teensie bits (i'm moving to soft foods this week).
Good luck

I got some good ideas that taste good from some babyfood sites. I hade to start on purees, We took boiled chicken and put it in the blender wiht chicken broth and pureed it adding broth until it was the right consistancy, the further I was the less broth. Cream soups made wiht milk, cottage cheese, opureed at first, some times I add fruit too. Actually that is agreat source of protein and really good wiht peaches or apple butter, just a teaspoon in 1/2 cup cottage cheese yummmm
Steamed veggies, in the blender to start you just have to get past the color. Carrots, A couple of really good recipies my mom found in diabetic cook book were
Key Lime squares
2 - 6 oz containers of Lime yogurt
1- 4 serving box of lime jellp
1 - regular container of cool whip (I use fat free)
Mix the Jello mix into the yogurt. Then fold the mixture into the cool whip. Put in 9x9 square pan and freeze , cut into 9 squares. ( I used 8 1/2 cup containers) Nice replacemet for icecream.
I also tried cherry jello and cherry yogurt, very cherry. Next time I might try flavored jello and vanilla yogurt for more balance.
