Plateau diet and recipes

So, I am about to begin the plateau diet tomorrow.  I usually put something on my meat to get it to go down easier but am aware we cannot use ketchup or bbq sauce etc.
How did you cook and flavor your meats?
Also what kind of yogurt did you have? I just bought plain and the new natural sweetner to add to it.
Has anyone tried this sweetner? Forgot the name!!

I am pending a surgery date, so please forgive this question.... why no ketchup/bbq sauce, etc?  Nobody has said anything about that to me.  Is it because of the sugar content?

I think you're probably referring to Truvia.  I haven't tried that brand, but have bought stevia extract packets from The Vitamin Shoppe.  It's different, but not bad.  And it feels like a better choice for me since it's a plant derivative and not a chemical compound.

I believe that ketchup & BBQ sauce are not good choices on the plateau diet because they're higher in sugar, calories and carbs.  I know when I'm 'wetting' some dry chicken, I can eat a LOT of ketchup.  I saw BariatricEating.com has a sugar free BBQ sauce called Bellycheer so maybe that would be a good choice?  If nothing else you can always use some bouillon or broth.
good luck!
