Feeling of a brick in my stomach

Ok so I don't eat bread anymore. But I wanted to try some tortillas to make wraps and stuff. I got the whole wheat little ones. It went down fine but later in the day it felt like a brick in my lower stomach. Why is this? Is it because I don't eat bread anymore and my stomach isn't use to it?

Those wraps,  although being whole wheat, are still very doughy and acts the same way as bread.  It doesn't digest but forms little balls of dough in your stomach.  I'd add that to another thing you can't eat.  At least that's my opinion.

Brenda,

You are correct.

I get the same thing from most pita breads as well.

I think we don't chew bread up like we should-because it's soft, we swallow-so it makes the dough balls.  if I want bread, I have to be very diligent about my chewing.

I had my Surgery May 15, 2009. So far I have not had any issues with eating bread of course I only eat wheat. Stay away from the white bread. It tends to be stickier and may be hard to deal with. As for tortilla shells I have not found any issues other than to chew it very very well and eat it not only slow but extra slow. These i know are not the best choice but everyonce in awhile a soft shell taco is good.
