So ever since I had the band put in I have had issues with thick mucus in the back of my throat. It feels like  a post nasal drip. I have tried eating slowly or eating soft foods but I still have it.

I c=keep on drinking HOT liquids thinking it will loossen it up so I can spit it out but no such luck.

I am not tight at all.

Any thoughts?

I've never had allergies b4 but who knows? Now I am wondering if maybe I am getting sick???

I just want to blame my band on everything!!

Recession?? It's my band's fault! :)

I think I need to see my primary and just rule out strep....

I have the same problem.  I think it is allergies.  I had to take some Bendryl last night because I was itching all over.  I have never had allergies before, but I sure do now.

Sounds like allegies. Try coughing it up if you can.

A few thoughts - try sipping orange juice to help cut thru the stuff. I have problems with allergies so I usually take benedryl at night to help and claritin in the mornings. That has helped a lot.

Good luck!

I have this -- actually got a small unfill about 6 weeks ago because of it.

My doctor said that it is sinus drainage --- and I take some Robittusin (liquid) or Mucinex (huge pills) and they seem to help.

I can eat without issues (no pb, no sliming) and I don't have any reflux or heartburn, just this occasional 'gunk' in the back of my throat.

I feel for you!

right after my surgery, I had this - come to find out it was Thrush.  It was surely annoying.  Medicine cleared it right up.
