I am having one of those days! Ive been thinking about dinner since I got up...

I have been craving sushi for a week now...Im sure I wont get lucky enough to have that for dinner since DD and DH wont touch it.

I keep daydreaming of pizza. Not just any pizza but this really good white pizza that has ricotta, provolone and mozzarella cheese....yumnummy...all gooey....SEE WHAT I MEAN! LOL

At least Im headed to the podiatrist soon, so that will keep me busy.

Cravings are different from real hunger in that they will pass...eventually.
Try this:  A successful bandster here shared her trick and it's a good one!  If you're craving something specific, tell yourself that if you're still craving it tomorrow that you can have it.  When tomorrow comes, if you're still craving it, put it off for one more day.   Usually the craving will go away after the first day, but if not by the second day tell youself you can have it on the third day and then PLAN have a "CONTROLLED" small portion of the food you crave.

BTW, I eat pizza when I crave it or DH wants it, I just scrape off the toppings and eat it without the crust.  I get all the flavors I miss without the crust that will just add carbs or get stuck!

All things in moderation, right?

Hang in there!  This too shall pass!

THANKS! LOL, Im trying. I just had my lunch so its eased up some

Ive been pretty tight for the past 2-3 days from some reason. There is no way I could eat pizza anyway, or no reason to waste money going out to eat.

Im proud that I didnt try to grab a piece of pizza from the cafe at work. Yahoo!

I can do this, I will do this.

My DH loves sushi, so we had it Monday night for our anniversary.  Ordered some sashimi and some rolls ... I just disected the rolls for the most part... had a few bites with rice just to cure my craving, but focused on the fishy stuff mmmmm

oh and i do like Lisa when I want pizza... I'm one of those people who if I deny the craving it only gets stronger....

Few weeks back I wanted ribs.  I mean every day when i was thinking about what I wanted to it, it was ribs.  So finally one night I said I'm eating ribs... ordered the half rack dinner to go from outback... got it home, cut off a rib for me and gave the rest to my DH.  I got my rib fix cause it tasted good and I was full and i wasn't tempted to keep eating them (cause by the time I could finish chewing my rib, his ribs were all gone!)

I'd tell DH and DD they are on their own and call in a little sashimi order to my favorite place then get home and set out my cute japanese plated and get out the chop sticks and have myself a nice little treat!  Our local place has amazing salmon sashimi... such good quality.  I'm usually a tuna girl, but their salmon is so good.

I found this recipe on Eggface's website yesterday!  This looks so good and will likely handle cravings for sushi w/o the rice.

Shelly's California Roll Salad

8 oz. Crab Meat (Imitation Flake or Real)
1 Cucumber, diced
1 Avocado, diced
Baby Spinach
1 Green Onion, sliced on the bias

Wasabi Yogurt Dressing
2 oz. Fage Greek Yogurt
1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
3/4 teaspoon Wasabi Powder
squeeze of Lime Juice
1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt

Mix crab, cucumber and avocado together. Spoon onto a bed of baby spinach leaves. Mix dressing ingredients together till well combined. Spoon over salad. Sprinkle with green onions.

I used flake imitation crab aka surimi (it's a bit higher in carbs but cheaper on the pocketbook) than the real deal. Surimi is usually made from Alaskan Pollock and typically what they use in California Rolls. If you aren't a sushi person still try this salad... even people who don't like sushi like California Rolls.

Girl, I dont think you should deprive yourself! Stop on the way home and get some sushi! Love me some Tuna Sashimi, seaweed salad or a ginger salad. Do it up! But..you may want to stay away from the pizza. Or make a version of it that's more band friendly..like on a whole wheat tortilla. -Nik
