Good news!
I'm sooo glad my band is out and revised to RNY. I could have waited untiL January for the sleeve when they started doing sleeves in January but I didn't want to wait that long, because weight gain and being very overweight is a huge factor in my depression and I did not want to go through that.
I only have 41 more lbs to go to my goal!
Now blog about your sleeve experience! :)
I will be thinking about you on April 24th as my mom is having total shoulder replacement on April 25th!
Banded 03/22/06 276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)
Sleeved 07/11/2013 228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
I had a follow-up upper GI this morning and was relieved to see that my esophagus is no longer dilated, not even a little bit. Hope the same can be said of you soon,
Jean

If your bariatric surgeon & his staff are not investigating the cause of your symptoms, you need to find another surgeon as soon as possible.
How long has this been going on? Have you been having eating problems? Is there any pattern to the symptoms (time of day, after eating certain foods, taking medications, related to stress, etc.)? Is the pain constant or intermittent?
My symptoms were night cough, then occasional reflux that progressed to nightly reflux, with occasional regurgitation of food I'd eaten many hours before. I did not have chest pain. A few years ago I did have some bad chest pain after swallowing an antibiotic capsule that was too big to pass through my stoma. My surgeon removed some fill from my band, and that fixed it.
I'm not a doctor, but I think you need to have an upper GI x-ray study done to see what's going on in there. if your bariatric doc won't do it, ask your primary care physician or a gastro-enterologist to order one.
