There's a bit of a ******g contest going on here, so lets clear the air a bit.
4cc bands CAN be unbuckled and re buckled
lap bands in and of themselves don't cause dumping, but some bandsters do dump.
If you have blamed bandsters fot their failed band, don't expect a warm reception, just saying!

Step...I removed my post....bottom line, it's up to surgeons to determine whether or not a band can be unbuckled or rebuckled during surgery....they are skilled professionals that can determine this....and not up to what people say on a public message board...

Regarding dumping syndrome... those who are researching the band should ask about dumping with their Health Care Professionals and not people posting anything on a public message board.

Regarding warm receptions, I don't care about that...I only post FACTS here that's WELL DOCUMENTED WITH HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS, and I only post what IS TRULY happening to me whether it's good or bad...If I can't back up what I say...I will NOT post it here.

Revision surgery to AP small lap band *11/13/2012*, due to large hiatal hernia. I am hopeful about continuing my band journey uneventful and successful. I loved what my old band did for me and I am looking forward for my new band to Keep my weight down

I don't have an issue with you posting what you believe to be true...but in your current situation, when people are trying to help YOU, it's a mistake to not have an open mind and hear other people's experiences. These posters have genuinely tried to help you out...just be a bit more open to hearing something different. It's a big world out there and a lot of varying opinions about everything. Do you want to be perceived as always "right" or do you want to regain your health and avoid unnecessary procedures, with the risk they carry??

Nana, I have been ready your posts for awhile and while I find you incredibly supportive to some, I have to agree with Steph and find serious irony in your current troubles. I don't wish ill will on you but, maybe for the sake of this board, you go back and read all your posts. Unless you are an MD, which I know you are not, maybe think before you speak, take a step back and realize that you don't need the last word or don't know everything.

All the best on getting healthy again. This time, with your new band or whatever, maybe lay low and just OBSERVE.

Well, I can only tell you what my SURGEON (who's been doing this for over 10 years) told me:

Yes, a band CAN be unbuckled - unless there is stomach (or other physiological) damage which prevents it.
