Anyone have to deal with mild neuropathy?
I just came back from the doctor and he told me I had mild neuropathy in both legs. And he said it is probably due to my bariatric surgery I had 5-1/2 years ago. He said it was a B vitamin deficiency and I should be conscientious about taking my vitamins.... i have always been good about taking my supplements so I'm a little bit confused as to why this is happening now.
Has anyone ever had to deal with this?
Thanks...
Kay

Hi Kay,
I am sure with having the mild neurapathy that it will be reversed nce you up your vitamins. Have you always taken a B complex on top of all your other vitamins? I would definitely double it and have your PCP check you again in a couple months to make sure your numbers are going the right directions so that you don't get and permanent damage.
I am new to the game only 91/2 months post op but pregnant so they make me take double of almost everything. I just had blood work come back from two weeks ago and everything looks great. I intend to even make my PCP check my levels in between when I am not due for blood work even when I am as far as long as you so that this doesn't happen. I believe they should tell everyone to that.
Best wishes to you and Have a healthy and orosperous New Year.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Thanks Cira..
i started just yesterday taking 2 Bcomplex tablets so we'll see how that goes... i am the leader of the Tri-County WLS Group in Waldorf so I feel a responsibility to everything RIGHT! even though my blood work has always come back normal... this neuropathy came out of no where! I will emphasize to the group how absolutely imperative it is to be consistent with supplements as well as regular blood work.
Hopefully, I can reverse this trend with the B Complex tablets. Thanks again for your concern... i'll keep everyone informed if things turn around.
Thanks again!

That is good to know and will keep that in mind. I try to work out everyday and I wonder if that is what is helping mine. Plus I do take B12 shots and that could be it. I also have not had any insulin since I was released from the hospital. I like to say I don't have diabetes anymore and that could be the main reason I don't have the pain in my legs. BUT you know what has been killing me this carpal tunnel in the left hand. I am right handed. I guess I better look into that. Hope all is well.
