i get up, take a shower, have my shake then i'm pooped and take a nap. i get up, throw a load of laundry in the washer then need to sit again. i do 3 or 4 dishes and sit. sip sip sip, sit sit sit, nap nap nap. i was hoping to go back to work monday. is that realistic?

also, i can't seem to quench my thirst. i sip sip sip but want to gulp. i'm so afraid i will rip something or create a leak. did anyone else feel like this?

i am off pain meds as i'm not that sore. i can move easily. coughing is no problem. i can twist and bend no problem. so i thought i should stop with the pain meds. maybe it takes a couple of days for that to get out of my system.

i see dr. loggins tomorrow afternoon and will ask these same questions to him.

thanks for listening. i certainly would not change a thing. just would like to know when i might feel somewhat normal again.

Lisa, You are doing way more than I was at a little over a week post op. I was tired for the first 3 months. I had complications and I wasn't doing laundry until my 5th week out. I went back to work at 5 weeks and that felt like it was to early.  If you're still tired, maybe you should take another week off. Everyone heals differently. Don't feel bad about being tired. You're body just went through major surgery. You need time to heal. If you're tired, sleep. If you're thirsty, drink. Do whats comfortable for you. If you continue to feel tired next week or the week after something may be wrong, but right now its normal to be tired. You should always ask your doctor 1st if you think something doesn't feel right, even if it's only being tired.  I hope you get your energy back soon. ~dori~

I would get really tired very quickly. Was going to sleep at 8 pm with the kiddos and I think that helped me quite a bit. Doing anything like shopping omg I would be walking sideways so tired. It gets better everyday though.

Wow I can be such a dummy sometimes. Now that I think about it. I was really tired before my first post op. Iron was the culprit there. As soon as I started getting iron into me I started feeling more energy. Now I think I have to much but my labs will tell that soon enough.

Yup, I still feel tired, but I'm carrying a lot more weight around. The first week I think the anesthesia did me in,  now it's the nausea.

I was told by Dr. Loggins office that I had to be out of work for 6 weeks.  They let some go back in 4 if yiou explain why and what you do.  They said it takes that long to get used to the new way of eating and drinking

I plan on taking one week, but all I have to do is bring my little man to work.  Then I can come home and rest the rest of the day. I'm actually going to try and get him a morning ride, if that is possible.
