Good morning!!!  With 2 children I never get to sleep in either.  Oh well at least my day starts early and I can get a lot done while they watch SpongeBob.   Have a great Sunday!!  I'm hoping to get to ride today, supposed to be a little warmer.  Also have to do groceries and Levinsky's is having a 90% sale on winter stuff so I'm going to get the kids winter coats for next year.  Is there enough time to do that all today???

Hubby got up with the puppy and my 8 yr old son to watch Snow Buddies, so I got to sleep in til 8:30 this morning. Felt good. What are everyones plans for the day? Looks like some of you are going to go shopping. That sounds like fun. I'm doing 6 trash bags of laundry (at my house) for my mother who is out of the hospital now. She has COPD with emphazema (sp?). She'll probably be on oxygen for the rest of her life. She's pretty bad right now so we don't even know how much time she has left. I'm so grateful I never picked up smoking. I just hope this all makes my brother quit before it's to late for him. I have no other plans today but laundry. Just call me Laundry Queen. lol I hope everyone has a great Sunday, the sun sure looks nice out, but I bet it's cold just like yesterday. ~dori~

Dori, it is very hard seeing your parents like this.  My Dad has emphazema and on oxygen, he has really gone down hill in the past 5 years.  Does your mom live alone?  if she does, dont forget about Seniors plus, they can tell you everything she qualifies for ie: meals on wheels, home health..... have fun doing laundry.... I've got a few loat later too, yak....have a great sunday and HOnk to you... Cheryl

Cheryl, Yes, my mom lives alone. Last week I took her to DHS in South Paris after I got out of work to see if she qualified for Mainecare. She doesn't qualify because she owns her home, but they did give her a letter that they denied her, to give to the hospital so the hospital can help her pay for her hospital bill because she has no insurance. She lost her insurance when her husband passed away 4 years ago. They also told her about Seniors Plus, she called and they are delivering Meals on Wheels to her on Wednesdays starting this coming week. She also has a home health nurse that comes and takes her stats everyday. Yesterday my sister from Mass come up and we cleaned my moms house and that's when I brought all her laundry to my house to do. I started some yesterday, but will fini**** up today and take it back to her. My mom is only 62 so she doesn't qualify for Medicare either. I keep telling her to try and get disability so she can get Medicare, but she doesn't listen to me. She will never work again, she can't even sit in a chair for an hour without falling asleep. Thank you for your support, ~dori~

Dori,  I am sorry to hear about your mom.  My mother died from the same stuff.  She was at home on oxygen for years she was even still smoking while on oxygen.  She finally quit smoking when she was 60 and died when she was 62.  I was her primary caregiver and I lived with her. She should be eligible for disability and maybe survior benefits from social security I am not sure.  I just know that my mom got them and my dad died when she was 59.  (I believe she had to be disabled for a year before she qualified for Medicare or was that Medicade I can never keep them straight). Keep your chin up and keep as positive as you can when you are around her. Peggy
