OT: sorry! I have to rant!!!

Not a good past 24 hours!!!!!! WLS wise..I am fine!! But, about a month ago, while flossing my teeth, it felt like one of my fillings got loose. It didn't hurt, just felt weird. So, because I had the RNY coming up, I just let it go! So, last night, I had some canned chicken, all mashed up and was chewing on that right side. (Big mistake!) After I was done, my tooth felt even more weird! So I brushed and reached in to just barely touch the tooth! HALF MY TOOTH FELL OUT!!!!!!!!!! It's a molar too! YIKES! So now I am left with about half a tooth with a huge filling sitting on top of it with sharp edges! Of course, the dentist was closed last night by the time this happened! So, now I am waiting for the office to open so I can hopefully get an appointment and see what the heck they can do about it! I have a feeling I'll be losing a tooth by the end of the day!!!!! (I think there may be too much gone for a root canal and crown and stuff...and it's so expensive and I'd lose the tooth eventually anyways!) Thing is, I just had a cleaning in Feb and they said everything looked really good, no cavities, no problems!!!! Yikes! I am bummin!!!!!!! So, back on fluids until I can get in to see the dentist! I am NOT a happy camper!!!!!!! Sorry for the rant! Have a beautiful liquidy sunshine day!!!!!! hugs! Ruth

that sure does stink,, but look at the bright side you did not say it hurt..no pain..but sorry to hear your having a tough day, things will be better after you see the dentist.. rant all you like we all do.. Have a great day Barb

Ruth, that sucks to say the least. I hope everything works out for you today. You must of really been looking forward to eating some semi normal food, then this happens. I am sure that your day will get better!

oh, man Ruth, i'm so sorry. Man, if I was about ready to eat my chicken leg and all of a sudden I lost a tooth someone would loose their head. Let us know what happends today, what a bummer... cheryl HONK HONK HONK, you need them today.

Oh yuck the dentist. Not my favorite place to go. I had that happen to me once Ruth broke the whole back part of my molar off. So for years I had one huge filling instead of a tooth It has been capped now . Good Luck with your tooth though I will be thinking about you.

Thanks for all your good wishes and honks!!!!!!! It helped! I am back and I still have a tooth! Amazingly! I actually only have about 30% of it left according to the dentist because as he was taking off the old silver filling, the tooth just kinda kept falling apart! So, he has "rebuilt" it, so to speak and is hoping it will last me a while! He did say that I shouldn't eat anything chewy or crunchy on that side....like, DUH! I'm on purees!!!!!!!! He kinda laughed! My cheek, lip, jaw, and tongue are still numb, so it's kinda interesting to drink at this point! But MAN, am I behind on my liquids and protein for today!!!!! 2 1/2 hours in his chair with nothing to drink! NOT GOOD! So, I'll be playing catch up the rest of the day....hopefully I'll get close! Thanks again all!!!!!
