I posted this on the main forum last night and got some responses...just wondering what my family has to say: I've become addicted to Breyer's no sugar added ice cream.  This week I have butter pecan which has 110 cal. ?fat 2prot. & 4 sugars.  Is this bad??  1/2 cup serving which I measure.  I usually add 1tbsp peanut butter heated w/ 1/4scoop of protein powder and 1tbsp sf chocolate syrup.  Occasionally I go over the 950 calories I have decided to stick to.  I eat healthy and measure everything.  Just wondering what everyone thought??  My protein intake for today was 72g.

you know what I think, if you were still on the loosing track it would be one thing, but your on maintainance or even trying to gain a few.  I say, as long as your counting it, go for it toots....Life as we know it shouldn't be over, just more controlled...

I have had some already and didn't think anything of it.  And I didn't even add the extra protein or anything to make it a better choice.  I don't think it is bad at all.  We have to live and this is a lifestylke change.  Having 1/2 cup of no sugar ice cream is not the same as before (big heaping bowl of full on sugar ice cream).  Especially since you have already reached and surpassed your goal. I think some people on the main board may have a problem with it because some people are more extreme.  Some people say don't ever touch potatoes or any carb at all.  But you need some carbs.  I think you should feel good about how far you have come and actually think hey....this is good.  I am having ice cream in a healthy way aqnd not overboard like I used to. For this to work we have to be able to incorporate it into our lives.  The important part is to keep living and to be positive.  I think it is perfectly fine...and I think you did even better by adding the protein...more than I did.

Wow Tanya.  I was thinking the same thing and then I read your response.  You and I are thinking alike on this one.

Thank you both for your POSITIVE spin on my finding something I actually enjoy and have figured out a way to make it healthy.  Even better is I found Torani sugar free chocolate syrup at Hannaford in Oxford yesterday so the chocolate flavor is now NO calories and no sugar alcohol so I added a little more protein powder. Again, thank you for your positive comments...I so LOVE my OH-Maine family. Have a great Sunday. ***I welcome any other comments even if you aren't positive as long as you can do it kindly***

I agree with everyone else, Stephanie!  It doesn't sound bad at all, especially with added protein and measuring out the quantity.  I really think that's what got me in trouble before....I could sit with the container of ice cream and eat most of it!  YIKES!  Anyways, since you need the calories, my opinion is it's all good!  ENJOY!  Ruth

I don't see any  problem with it as long as you measure it out, and adding the protein powder  makes it even better.    My thing I'm addicted to is decaf tea with splenda and skim milk, I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and I HAVE to make one or I can't get back to sleep. I'm so bad I keep tea bags and splenda in my jacket pocket, purse and glovebox in case I stop somewhere and they don't have decaf. or splenda. I guess it could be alot worse, I could have candy bars stashed..lol. Enjoy your ice cream!!!! Cheryl
