Exactly 1 Year Ago !
How time does fly and how things have changed!
Exactly 1 year ago today I was still in surgery ( my surgery started at 7:30 am and it's now 9:15 am!) having the surgery that would give me a new lease on life! What a journey it's been, and continues to be
When people comment about my weight-loss, I reply "I'm healthier then I've been in YEARS and I feel GREAT!" and THAT's the truth! Not only have I journeyed to a better lfe but I've made many new friends along the way and I DO appreciate all the love and support I've gotten and felt from this site.
It's amazing what a year will do......the changes that can occur.......and the rollercoaster of feelings and emotions that go along with it. Looking back, I can now see that each "bump in the road" was there for a reason.......to help me grow as a person and regain the life I was letting slip by because of the weight issues. Was it easy? Anyone here will no doubt agree that the answer is a resounding "NO!"
But to say I didn't work WITH it, and learn FROM it would be false. Life is a challenge no matter what we're dealt but it's the WAY we respond to those challenges that helps to make us stronger. It's also the support we get (or don't) that helps to determine just how, we as individuals, handle any set backs that happen.
Sorry foe being so long winded, but I feel so honored and blessed to have been given this chance at life again AND to have made such a great group of friends! Looking forward to our get-together in late August.
BTW.....While at work (the Hannaford Bakery) on Monday, who should "stop by" but Corrine, the nutritionist for Dr. Loggins! I joked that she was "just checking up on me to make sure I wasn't eating too many sweets" She was there to pick up a birthday cake for another gal in the office! I see Dr. L. AND Corinne tomorrow morning at 9am for my 1 year follow-up! Had blood work done last Saturday (all 7 vials of it!) so should be getting the results of those tests as well.
Last year at this time I was 211 pounds (down from my starting weight of 257. Today, by my scale, I am 130 pounds (10 pounds below my goal) and I feel like a brand new ME!
THANK YOU GOD
and
Thank You Dr. Loggins and All my OH Family!

Cheryl.....So YOU'RE the reason my appointment was changed !!!
I was originally scheduled to see Dr. L. and comapny at 8:00am but got a call Monday with the request to change it to 9:00am! Seeing as it's you......I've no problem with it LOL and may very well show up there around that time anyway just to get the chance to meet you. I live but 5 minutes driving distance from there so it's no big deal. I plan to stay in town after my appointment as I've got a funeral to sing at 11:00 at St. Patrick's Church not far from there. . This means I'll be getting my walking in BEFORE I go to work at 2:00pm. See you Thursday!

Anne

You rock Ann! I am looking forward to my weight goal too. I'm in the size goal I set for myself (12) but am yet to reach the weight goal (140). The last time I was in a size 12 I did weigh 140 pounds. Today I'm 163 pounds and in a size 12 so I'm excited to see what size I'll be at 140 pounds. Keep up the awesome work and now the tough part of maintaining kicks in. Thanks for being an inspiration to us.
I remeber seeing your picture at a support group pre-op, with 2 other gilrs...shoot, can't remember right this minute who that was...but look at you now. Wow oh wow, you are such an inspiration to us, thank you so much for paving the way!!
Congratulations on your amazing transformation!
