You are a saint, I do not know how I would handle something like that, but I know I would have some words for her. It is so hard to deal with the public sometimes. I worked at a post office for years and saw these two little girls for years and one day they were talking to me while thier mother was looking at her mail. One of the little girls said how come you are sooo fat, they thought I was the fatest person they have ever seen, and their mom never said a word, I stood there in shock, and then I just told them that people came in all shapes and sizes, that is what makes us all special. If my children had ever said something like that to someone I would have killed them...
You are a better person than she, you deserve a pat on the back and I too hope you turned her in, so she cannot do that to another.

I wish I could hug you!  I don't know that I could have been as professional and composed as you were.  I admire your strength.  I do hope that you reported the person, because you should not have to endure that kind of abuse.

There is so much hate out there for Fat ,skinny, black,  rich, and poor & beautiful people.

I don't know what I would have done...We have a job to do and we must keep our cool..but that took the cake.

You handled the situation well. Please report the bag to the nursing supervisor. That behavior needs to be noted in her chart.

If I were in that situation I would have been a puddle of crying tears. Some thought I'm having are.........I would tell her that I'm upright and walking around. You're in bed and I have the key to you getting stronger and walking! Do you want to make nasty comments, or get strong and walk?
