So last week Friday I had the last of the blood work, and urine culture.  Well, got a call today, and I have a UTI.  Dr Foote's office called in 2 pills I am to take today and one tomorrow.  I never had a UTI.  I dont know what to expect, but the nurse said it was very common and normal not to worry.  I asked her if this will effect my surgery, and she said no..  Thanks goodness!!  Dont need it post-poned for anyting.  I just have one current worry.  I am freaking out BAD!!  I am menstrating right now, and have to have a cathter,.  WHY ME!!  I was nervous enough just being cathed, and now I have to deal with this mess?? (literly) Good Lord!!  Other than that, I am EXCITED to get this started.   This afternoon I had a friend come over and take some of the dreaded 'before' pic's.  WOW what an eye opener.  I took some in my undies and bra... those will NOT be posted until goal!!  LOL  Good gawd, thank goodness for clothing!!!  I cannot wait to see my progress.... 2 more days!!!

Jodi, don't worry about having your period.  You're not the first one to have that happen.  It was always my luck that I got it when I wanted it the least.  Keep those pics handy and be sure to measure yourself so that when you're on a stall, you can still see that there is a difference.  You are so close, I know you're nervous but hang in there and pretty soon you'll be on the losing side with the rest of us.

Hey Jodi, How is the pre-op diet going. Was the food as bad as everyone says. Also, did you lose any weight while on the diet. I get my food on Friday when I go to MMPC. I can't wait..... Anyway, good luck and don't worry to much. It'll be over before you know it. ~Aimee~

Hey Aimee.. Yes the food is as bad as everyone says.  I cannot gut the spaghetti or the chili.  The creamed soups, tomato soup, oatmeal... its all discusting.  You are suppose to get 10 points a day, and the first week was okay.. this second week is hard to even get in 5 points.  I dont like the pudding either. Here is what I eat on a daily basis. one jello one bar one chocolate drink (pre-made) one to two juices that is only 6 points total.  I hope I am not harming myself, but I just cannot gut it.  I'd rather not eat.  I'm not hungry anymore anyways.  The four days were pure hell!!  Then after that.. I did not feel like eating.. and now I dont care if I eat.

OH and you BM's are going to be really weird.  Mine were.. Its like paste.  I hate it.. so today I took me some MoM.. and cleaning me out!!  I have not cheated at all.. I dont have any desire to cheat, I want this more then anything.. I just dont feel like eating anymore and have to force me to eat something.  WOW never throught it would be like that in my life...

First week on this diet i went in and lost only 11 pounds.  Wanted more.. but will take that.  I did not exercise at all.  I dont know if it is the 11 pounds that is making me feel good, or what .. but I'm already starting to feel great.  I have NO water on my legs anymore.  I cannot believe it!!  OKay. well let me know how it is going for you ... My big day is in 2 days!!!! Cannot weight!!! Jodi :O)

Having your period when you have surgery is no big deal, it happens all the time.  Measure yourself like ann says, i wish i would have done that.   Good luck to you on wednesday Linda

Hey Jodi - good luck Wednesday.  I'm sure everything will go great I took water pills before surgery and sometimes after (when I need them).  They took me off them before surgery.  For the first couple days, I thought my ankles would blow up.  Then all of sudden they went right down to nothing.

Word of caution - watch your shoes.  Slip on ones will be too big.  I have a real hard time wearing my slip on ones.

Let me know how you come out. DD

Jodi, The same thing happened to me!  I thought for sure they were going to cancel surgery, but nurses were so nice and said it was no big deal.  ****Warning....this may get graphic so don't read any more if you don't want to hear about it!!***** I kept on underwear and a pad until they gave me my happy juice in the IV.  Then the nurse put extra blue pads under me and I had on a gown and covered up.  It was weird at first, but ok.   As soon as I woke up from surgery, I did have my mom there to help me get up and change the blue pad and put on clean undies and a pad.  If anything, this will motivate you to get up and walk faster...so you can clean up a bit.  The nurses were so nice and understanding....they all told me not to worry and just use the blue pads on the bed.  They have seen it all before.  I did take a squirt bottle with me (this is a trick I learned when I had my kids).  I got one of the bigger empty shampoo travel bottles from Meijer's.  This made clean up in the bathroom a little easier since you might have a hard time bending and moving around.  I would suggest to bring a little thing of flushable bathroom wipes, like cottonelle brand, with you also. The cath won't effect anything, either.  I know you were worried about that.  As I said before, I'm a big baby about things like that and it was fine.  It was out before my drugs really wore off so there wasn't any real worry about it. Good Luck, and here's to your speedy recovery!!
