Hi!  I would highly recommend Dr. Gluk in Muskegon.  My mother had him as a surgeon and she has been extremely satisfied with every aspect of care she has received from him and his office staff.
Good Luck!

Also, she has also attended a WLS support group that meets at the Tamarak fitness center right there in Fremont, this could be a useful place to get support and information.

Hello and welcome to all of you! I'm from Howell and had my surgery (sleeve) November 2010 @ St. John's in Macomb County. This is the best thing you can do for yourself, right Dawnie?

After surgery, stay involved with support groups and forums like this one so that you can maintain your focus. Best wishes to everyone on this journey.

P.S. Be careful with the cheese, sometimes it never wants to leave you.

Always the best wishes, Sue

PHP can order what is needed. but be sure that you php is knowledgeable as to what your WLS test results need to be and what test are required. It would be a good idea to have your former surgeon send records and  suggest yr  php what is required yearly. I am not in your area so I cannot recomend where to go. you could call your sergeon and ask their office to recomend some one for you. What surgery did you have? and What kind of maintenance is required . Is it a band? do you need fills? or RNY reqiring yearly blood work and vitamins.

You should at least contact your surgeons office and ask this questions.

Topic: Question
I had surgery up in Marquette by Dr. English in 2008. I haven't been seen since 2009 because of no insurance and I moved to Fremont. Insurance went out the door with my ex. My parents think I should make an appt for follow up care with a surgeon here and have labwork done etc with my tax return. Can my PCP order what needs to be done or do I really need to see a surgeon. Who would you recommend the Surgeons in Muskegon or the ones in Grand Rapids. Muskegon is 45 min and GR is about an hour. Either is doable. Can I get some feedback of who to see please?

Well went in Wednesday, surgery was at 3; 30 doctor had 5 that day, I was the last, and I finally got to go back at 5:30. The hit me with the blood thinning shot and took blood then we had a hard time getting it to stop. We did surgery I was back to room about 7, I woke and this dumb nurse had the breathing treatment thing in my mouth trying to get me to blow. I was so mad I knocked it out of hand and on the floor. I was sick and here she is doing this, I starting getting sick then. That night and most of morning on Thursday I threw up blood and clots of blood. The doctor came and gave me allot of meds for nausea, and a steroid for blood. About afternoon I finally stopped getting sick. Have a hard time getting in protein and water, my tummy feels so full and hard. I had flushing all day yesterday, said could been antibioticsThey came me; I have hard t time with antibioticsBut better today. I got home about 5 last night. I tummy to bloated, and sore but my shoulders are bother me more. Said it could have been table that I was on or the gas they put in you went to my neck and shoulders. But it's done and feeling a little stronger each hour.
