Topic: RE: Anyone dealing or dealt with BCBS for a revsion
Do you have BCBS of Michigan - or another state?  If it's Michigan, your doctor should know if you meet the medical critiera.  If it is not - call your customer service to find out if it's covered and what the criteria is.

Topic: Bariatric research
Dear Potential Research Participant,

Thank you for your recent participation in an online survey about food preferences
following bariatric surgery that was compensated $25. Because you indicated that we could
contact you for future studies, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to
assist us with our next effort to better understand post-bariatric surgery outcomes.

We are recruiting adults with a history of bariatric surgery for a laboratory study of
food choice behavior. Interested individuals are invited to complete a 20-minute
screening survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/F7DXCZ7 to determine eligibility.
Eligible participants will then be invited to come to Eastern Michigan University in
Ypsilanti to participate in a lab session that involves a computer task and the provision
of small amounts of food. Participants who complete the lab session will be compensated
with a $50 Amazon gift card for their time and travel. Please note that individuals only
completing the screening survey will not receive compensation.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your help!

Topic: LGBT forum invitation
Hello,
I just wanted to let people know and anyt there is a forum for the community and anyone who is friendly and want to stop by. I was very active 3 years ago and would like to see it become active again.   It is listed under  "weight loss related"

I am not attempting to offend anyone. I understand that some might not agree with me posting. I am doing it to help LGBT people. Everyone has the right to not agree. I respect that.

                                                             Thank You !

Topic: RE: Hello!!!

I know the feeling... I was too, and I didn't have a ton of support from my family at first, they didn't warm up to the idea until AFTER I had the surgery.  And mine was just before Thanksgiving dinner and I HAD to attend the FAMILY dinner...... So as I was passing around the Turkey, the mashed potato's, the stuffing, the gravy, the cranberry sauce and all the friggin pies, I was sipping on my Chicken broth..... But it actually didn't bother me, because that filled me up and I wasn't really hungry.... Sounds funny, but it is the truth.... It is just amazing... For a long while I would just eat a tablespoon of Peanut butter for lunch and that was it and I was full.... It is definitely a roller coaster and when I go places that have tons of food because it is a Pot Luck thing, I think to myself.... "What was I thinking, I want to dive into everything", but I just take a teaspoon of a few things, then half an hour later I go back for a little more and so on.... It is all good and after 5 years my pouch is still treating me good and keeping me from over eating because I use it as a tool, just like it is supposed to be used.... Follow your doctors and nutritionists instructions and you will do just fine.....

Hugs again,
