Topic: Anyone dealing or dealt with BCBS for a revsion

just looking for some help or advise from some people about a RnY revision to a DS. about getting pre-approved through the insurance BCBS - the office, (BCBS ) asked me to get pre-approved because it is a revision how would i even go about doing that! Thanks in advance!

You would be crazy not to be a little fretful of surgery. But most likly you will come through with flying colors.

I haven't been on this forum in quite a while so I just discovered this thread. I got a lap band May 4 2010, met my goal on Oct. 5, 2010, and have maintained within a few pounds, since. A friend had wls with another surgeon just up the road from GHP and she was told that he insisted all his patients had open proceedures. When I found that out after my initial consult I quickly switched to GHP and have been thrilled.

I live in Lake Odessa, Ionia county.

You can pm me here and I can give you the rest of the info, if you want. I am a retired paramedic and am also banded.

You should also try to spend some time each day on the lap band forum. Very helpful for encouragement.

hello everyone. i was very fortunate to have my surgery approved within one week of submission to the insurance company. i was also fortunate enough to find a surgeon and hospital that i have total trust in caring for me. my family and co-workers are very supportive. but with all that good fortune, i am still a nervous nelly. as with any surgery, there are risks. and i realize this. i am having the roux-en-y. and what i need now is your words. so thank you for sharing your experience on this site, i am sure i will be using this as a vital tool as i make my journey.
