Topic: Journeys
So I started my journey Feb 29, I was sleeved. It has been a learning experience. Learning how to slow down eating, and figure out when full and when overfull. I do good for a week or so and then I have a day like today, seems like everything I eat comes up. I eat to fast. and then feels almost stuck. But I am learning. LOL the hard way. One of my friends had RNY and seems to have less issues then me. '
Do any of you have this issue, of eating to fast, and not sure when to stop eating. Some days I can eat 2 to 3 bites, and others feel like could eat allot. Then there are the slider things that just go down way to easy. Today had big issues with tummy hurting most of day. Big time gas not moving felt like just woke up from surgery. Was ruff for while at work. So bad on pills. Well decided i was going to start posting to this site, being I am a native of the great state of Michigan How is everyone Else's journey?

Topic: Protein meals and snacks
Hi everyone,
I just thought maybe we could share some meal and snack idea's with each other. I am finding that I pretty much eat the same few meals all the time. I try and tell myself it isn't much different then before surgery but now they are protein meals instead of fast food meals.
But I am afraid if I do not add some different options at some point I will get tired of the same old meals and "cheat". So I thought maybe if we all shared meal idea's as well as snack options maybe that would help.
Some of the meals I eat are chili made with lean burger, chicken wraps with whole wheat tortilla, lean burgers (no buns) cooked on George Foreman grill, and tuna fish with light miracle whip (also not on a sandwich). Some snacks that I like are soy chips found at either Kroger or Meijer, Special K chips, soy nuts, beef jerky (either home made or store bought), cottage cheese with pinapple in it, and fruit. I do know that I have to begin to add more vegetables to my meals because eating so much protein and little of anything else can become pretty 'binding'
I hope we are able to share some idea's with each other.

Topic: where do I go from here?
So Hurley turned me down
So where do I go from here? They said that I couldn't even appeal their discussion. I am upset, but only because they denied me because of having been diagnosed with depression and borderline personality. Oh and I guess their Dr of Psychotherapy said that I am bi polar. Whatever!! My Psychiatrist who I have been working with for over 10 years has never said anything about me being bipolar. It has never been mentioned at all in fact.
Anyway!!!! Where do I go from here?

Hi Everyone:
I have been hanging around here since Janurary. I had my surgery Feb29th, had the sleeve. So far doing well but part of me wishes would of had the RNY. But doctor thought would be better with sleeve, already had gallbladder out and everything goes threw me, so said RNY would not be best for me. So I went with the sleeve.
I have two childrens, Son is 30 with two beautiful grandaughters. My daughter will be 23 soon, but she is special needs, and will lives with me. For use been hard year, her father passed away last month of 4th stage cancer. We have not been married for about 10 years but we have been good friends. Very hard on her.
As for me I work full time, had my surgery threw Dr. Foote Out of GHP. But I had surgery in Grand Haven , MI. I live in Holland. Nice to meet everyone.
