UPDATE: Liver hemangioma anyone?
Excuse me while I FREAK OUT briefly. I just got a call from Dr. Johnson's "helper" who said they received my gallbladder ultrasound results...
I have gallstones and sludge, so will have to have the gallbladder removed. Also, they found some lesions on my liver and want me to come in ASAP tomorrow for a liver MRI. They said something about echogenic lesions that are often benign, but that could be tumors of some sort. He said Dr. Johnson will likely biopsy my liver during my RNY even if the MRI shows the hemangioma to be minor.
So just a little panic on my part. I want my surgery to be safe, but don't want to have to change all my plans if something is wrong with my liver. I am glad they found out about the gallbladder stuff so I can have that taken care of during surgery.
Any thoughts or input from folks who may have had anything similar would be appreciated.
Many thanks!
Shannon

Try not to freak out-- I know, easier said than done. When I was in the ER last year following my RNY, a CT scan showed lesions on my liver, too- they kept me overnight to rule out any problems-- and eventually stated that I have benign lesions- good to know, in the event I have another CT or other imaging where they don't have previous films or records.
Waiting to hear your news after the MRI. Glad they can deal with the gallbladder as long as they are going to be in your abdomen. I have no input from experience, just words of support. Looking forward to getting your email that surgery is done and all is well. Hugs, Kathy

Take it easy and just go through the steps - they want to make sure you are fine, as I'm sure you do, too! All the best to you for today and tomorrow..

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY! Working on the next 25. Then I'll tackle more...
