7 weeks post op and still slow.
2 - 16 oz glasses of skim milk = 16
2 ounces turkey breast - 10
2 ounces cheese - 12
1 protein shake made with milk - 32
8 ounces greek yogurt - 17
Ostrim stick - 14
Greek yogurt is a great bang for your buck when trying to get protein in.. it's smooth and 8 ounces goes down pretty fast and never seems to stick for me.
You've gotten some great advice so far. It's important that you find a few things that you can tollerate, and eat daily in order to get enough protein. Since you're struggling w/ protein shakes, I personally say head for a bar. One a day can give you 20g of protein. All of the Pure protein bars have 18-20g, lots of flavors. And if you can find a way to mix something into greek yogurt, that's a great choice too. Some people mix in a little sugar free preserves, SF jello mix or SF pudding and really like it.
As hard as it is, try not to get frustrated with losing a little slowly. I was comparing myself to faster losers alot in the first 6 months. You might be surprised if you start adding more protein the pounds come off quicker. Try it.
