“Victory is won not in miles but in inches. Win a little now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more.? Louis L'Amour quote
Hello, I'm scheduled for my RNY on the 30th of this month. With just two weeks to go I have to admit im pretty excited.
Is there anyone else on this board that had Dr. Smith as well and are willing to share their experience? Thanks.

Topic: RE: Dr. Michael Schwartz patients
I had my RNY by Dr Schwartz 3 years ago. I would recommend him and the clinic for sure.

Topic: RE: Dr. Baker? Dr. Ikramuddin? Dr. Buchwald?
I am scheduled for the seminar at the U of M (Fairview) on Dec. 21st. I'm still torn between Buchwald and Ikramuddin for my DS, but I'm leaning towards Dr. I since he does laproscopic. Another factor might be the length of common channel that each Dr. does, as I would prefer 100+ cm (I'd rather lose less weight than chance being too malnurished).
The only thing that still worries me about the DS (and to a lesser extent all WLS) is the vitamin regemin and blood tests. I'm trading zero current perscriptions (aside from my CPAP) for 30 pills a day and blood tests every 3 months after I get the DS. That's a big responsiblity for the rest of my life (50+ years?).

Please spay and neuter your pets!
The BEST is RTD Oh Yeah! Chocolate Protein Drink. You can get them at Vitamin Shoppe. Tastes like Slim Fast. Nummy!

I personally like the unflavored and unsweetened kind from MuscleFeast. Then, I make and flavor them with fruit, splenda or stevia to taste. I often think the flavored ones are too sweet for me or leave an after taste. I prefer the taste of Watkins Vanilla extract to get vanilla flavor. I usually make a protein coffee shake in the morning. Tastes like a cappucino or latte using sugar free carnation creamer. Good luck in your search for protein shakes that work for you. Carol
