Topic: RE: Starting to Re-build Me
Darla - Yes please keep us updated on your progress. Almost embarrassed to say this but I am 49 and I would love plastics.. As soon as I can afford to get BA I will. I am almost back in a training bra! My girls are completely deflated by my weight loss.
I dont need any lower work done and my arms look just fine (work with a trainer 2-3 days per week to build muscle there). Its lose skin on my tummy and the girls that need help. My husband will support me with what ever decision I make - its about how I feel in my own body.
Right now I am happy that my legs and arms look good. My tummy is flat - no rolls of skin - just lose wrinkles there. I need to have a few plastic consults to decide what to have done then start saving $$. Your Dr is on my short list. Can I ask who the others you consulted with where? What is the price that Dr Harrington quoted? And are you having silicone or saline???
Sorry for so many questions... you got me thinking!

It's at the Burnsville Panera Bread tomorrow (Sat) morning. I'll be there.
Topic: RE: what protein shakes are the best
You can make shakes into many flavors by adding fruit or sugar free syrups. There are many weight loss sites that have recipes if you need some.
My favorite is adding pumpkin and pumpkin spices for the pie flavor, another example taken from another member is adding lime juice and a graham cracker to make a "key lime flavor.
I also started to add hot sauces to give mine a kick at the end. So get some vanilla to use as a base or a chocolate peanut butter flavor and have some fun.
Another whole different tack is to use unflavored in different flavored soupd. I would be very careful here to make sure you are aware of both calories and sodium content. Some people have undermined their progress by just doing soups because they are so "pouch friendly." They do not keep you full for long unless protein is added, so people tend to over eat when just on soups.

Powdered proteins: Champion Pure Whey Stack chocolate, and Syntrax Vanilla Bean Torte. I also like the Syntrax Fuzzy Navel flavor. All of these can be found at Vitamin Shoppe or online. All of these are 23g protein per scoop and about 5 carbs, I think?
RTD protein: Premier Protein shake, chocolate flavor (vanilla is meh, strawberry is gross). These can be found at Costco in packs of 24 for about $30, I think. Each one has 30g of protein and 5g carbs.

Topic: RE: Another Monday rolls around--keeping it honest!
Here I am late again!
Starting/Highest Weight: 313
Day of Surgery: 300
Last Week: 208.8
Today: 207.2
Holiday plans are ot let the restriction do it's job- mine is still great, and keep snacking/grazing in check. So easy to have a little bit here and there... I'll bring protein bars, protein drinks, and water with mixins so I always have something to go to.
Also- exercise- need to do more of it... really, it's my big "failing." I'v ebeen able to lose steadily without it, but now that things are slowing down for me, I need to ramp it up. And, I have no excuses. In fact, I feel like my body wants it. I'll be just walking along and feel pep in my step and almost want to jog along instead- CRAZY for me! lol!
Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Topic: A little victory!
I stopped by Avenue today because I had an email coupon for 9.99 denim. I've noticed my jeans getting big again and thought I'd stop by. The whole store was 40% off and they said that was in addition to the 9.99 coupon. Yay! It turns out the deals couldn't be combined, but since they had told me otherwise, they let me have both discounts- 6 pairs of jeans @ $6 each! A steal!!! Same as Goodwill! And, best of all, I went in figuring I needed 16s, but nope- 14s in every style!!! Yay!!! Almost DONE with Avenue as 14s are their smallest size.
Just had to share. Even though my loss has slowed, I am still getting smaller.
