Yeah, that strikes me as odd, too.  Who did you talk to - Dorothy?  Did you have your original surgery through PN?

4 weeks out, you can make an appointment to talk with them without having to pay for the appointment - you should tell them that you're feeling lost, you've heard about their booklet (maybe it's a binder now, it was about a 36 page? booklet when I had surgery....).  If they try to give you the 'you know the routine' line, tell them - "Let's pretend I DON'T.  Treat me as you would a brand new WLS patient, and EDUCATE ME!"

I would also recommend going to their support group meeting, which is every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, back by the cancer center  (2nd level orange parking ramp).  You can get questions answered, support, laughs, and it's a great way to stay mindful of your 'new' relationship with food.  I still TRY to get there at least once/month, but being 4.5 years out and having a new PT job after my full time days, I haven't made it there for a couple months

Good luck!!  Don't accept NO for an answer when you have questions!

I'm not a revision, but I'm shocked.  I have a huge binder of info and appt after appt.  Tell them you need the binder and an appt with a NUT.  I had an hour by hour breakdown of what I was supposed to eat and drink early on.

Hi all,
I'm new here and am anbout 4 weeks out. Did anyone have surgery at Park Nicollet? If so, did you feel unprepared? I'm curious because I feel so unprepared and confused and I don't have any materials on what my surgeons office says I should/shouldn't be eating. I'm a revision and they kept telling me "oh you know the drill, you had a lap band".

Thanks for listening,
Kris

I would LOVE to get involved with this!!!!  I have a bunch of clothes in sizes 20-24, 1X-3X (and an awesome 4X peacoat) that I would love to give away :).  My pants are all petite.  I am looking for 16WP and 16P pants, and Extra Large & Large shirts.

Topic: Clothing sales?!
Hey, if you notice any great clothing sales (especially pants at Kohls or JC Penny's), please post!  I think the size I need will be 16WP or 16P.

I have a bunch of great tops that fit me right now, but could use some more pants...

Note- I visit the various thrift places, but it's really hard to find a good selection of petites :(

Thanks!

Speaking of feeling cold all of the time...

Costco has an AWESOME electric throw blanket.  It's about 5 feet square, and perfect for cuddling on the couch.  I bought mine for something like $25 this week.  They also have super cuddly sherpa throw blankets for under $20... I really want one of those too :)

I had an excellent experiemce with Dr Drew at Abbott, but he only does RNY. I have heard great things about Dr Baker at Unity from others in our coffee group,
My recommendation is that you visit all of the hospitals that offer your chosen procedure, and you will will see how they interact with potential patients. You will have a long term relationship so make you r decision based on your comfort with the whole team.

I myself LOVE the UNJURY unflavored protein powder....I also like the other flavors too...I mix it with Soymilk, frozen fruit and sometimes ice....I have also been playing with extracts and SF pudding powder in my protein shakes....I have a ton of recipes if you want any......My favorite is Reces Peanut butter cup.....

1 piece of advice, when you buy protein powder, watch the carbs and sugar in it....The UNJURY has 0 sugar and 1g. carbs....

Also after my RNY I got lactose intolerant, so I use soymilk in my shakes.....
