Dr. Joel Sagedahl at Northwest Family Physicians in Plymouth is my family practice MD. 763-504-6600 He has been supportive of me and he listens to you without rushing you through. I have been seeing him for about 4 or 5 yrs. He recommended my surgeon and is a really great doctor.

GB=gastric bypass.  I am just looking for someone who is familiar with the surgery and different needs that are related to it.  Basically I am wanting to find a GP to see for regular doctoring (cold/flu/uti etc) but who will have a knowlege and understanding of those who have had roux n y.  I havent seen a doctor in years and would like to have just one instead of a bunch of specialists.

Thanks Everyone - such great informaiton!  I have played it safe - bought a few things from the dollar store - and I looked through all of the stuff I have at home and found a bunch of prep bowls so I am good to go on that!

Hi Renee

I will post -

Starting weight - 289
Current weight - between 132 and 135 - depending on the day!

I don't get on my scale anymore than once a week, I am happy where I am!  I continue to eat my protein first - and make good choices!  I am into enjoying my life - and having a wonderful summer!  I wish I had the inclination to exercise more, because if I did, I would certainly tone up and probably lose a few more pounds, but hey - I am very happy where I am!  I have lost a total of 154 lbs (give or take a few) and totally appreciate the tool I have - the friends I have gained, and the lessons I continue to learn!

I did not experience denial myself, but I feel your frustration.  It's hard to want to take this drastic, life-changing step and encounter obstacles every step of the way.  Think of the obstacles as the universe's way to make sure you are really ready--if you can overcome these, you can be successful with WLS.

Did you hear anything yet?  What is the outcome?

Topic: First week of August weigh-in--step up and be accountable
Happy Monday, everyone!  It's a beautiful day, and I wish I didn't have to work.  Oh well...

I had a good week with exercise and weight.  It really helped that it cooled off and the humidity dropped.  I think I ran 6 out of 7 days!

Starting weight:  298.4
Last week: 139.8
This week: 139.0
Loss of 0.8 lbs this week

The Olympics have been very inspirational to me--these are people who have honed their bodies to perfection for a specific purpose.  Their dedication and commitment are amazing, no matter if they earn a gold medal or finish last.  It has taken me a long time to come to appreciate my muscles instead of burying them in fat, but now I am determine to become as strong and fit as I can be.

Run mileage this week:  18.3 miles last week, including one day of hill repeats.  One day on the elliptical for 4 additional miles.  Half-marathon is 3 weeks away!

I'm newly sleeved - and recovering from an unfortunate leak... but I would be up for a st paul meeting group after I'm recovered! I'm just outside of St. Paul (little canada/vadnais heights area) so anywhere in St. Paul is good for me.

Hi! ... I just came across your post and I realize it's a month old but was just wondering if you were still in need of some clothes... I have pants (size 22/2x) and shirts (size 3x) ... Alot of it was given to me by other very generous OH members or I got it at Swapkins so I would gladly just give them to you, whatever you would be interested in... Have you heard of Swapkins?... Please let me know if you are interested in taking a look at the clothes I have or if you would like more information about Swapkins... Best to email me directly as I don't check this site regularly... [email protected]
