Connie,
Great to hear from you! I was lucky that insurance paid for most of it or I wouldn't have been able to afford it either.
Miss you too!

Topic: July Already Monday morning weigh-in!
I can't believe it is July already! This summer seems to be flying by. Happily, I have this week off of work, but I have quite a long list of things I need to get done. My staycation is more like a long chore list, LOL.
It's going to be a scorcher this week, too! I need to remind myself to keep drinking and exercise early in the morning, when it's cooler. The good news is, you burn more calories exercising in the heat. It is showing this week for me:
Starting weight: 298.4
Last week: 139.3
This week: 138.5
Loss of 0.8 lbs this week
This is about where I want to be, so now the challenge is to stay there. I still weigh myself every day, and track food and exercise every day to help myself stay on track. Anybody else have tricks they use for maintenance?
Paul, thanks for riding with us on Saturday, that was fun. I sure was tired when I got home, tho. Running mileage this week: 16 miles on-the-dot, plus about 25 miles on the bike for the week. Still haven't managed to get myself over 20 miles per week running in the last couple of months. Maybe after the triathlon this weekend. I'm starting to get very nervous...
For those of you running in Apple Valley on Wednesday morning, see you there!

Best thing you can do right now is THINK POSITIVE! If you have decided that this is the right plan of action for you, then you should also decide that you are going to make it happen!
Park Nicollet has, IMHO, a great program - they walk you through all the necessary pre-op requirements (theirs AND your insurance plan). If you are a good candidate and there is any way they can help you get WLS, they will. You are in good hands. I'm over 5 years post op, maintaining, and happy as heck with what WLS has done for me physically and medically. No more diabetes. No more back pain, no more foot pain, very little knee pain (old injury - lots better than it was, but will never go away without a surgical fix.). I can buy clothes pretty much anywhere I want, and I am no longer paranoid in front of people. Men - older AND younger - have actually hit on me! (What a strange thing!?!)
Just get your head on solid, and dedicate yourself to the changes you will need to make in your relationship with food. It's quite a ride!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful

I completed my first set of appointments and my apnealink test. I am scheduled to do the remaining appointments on July 11th. If everything goes okay, I will be on my way to getting insurance approval! It all seems too good to be true right now. I am waiting for the rug to be pulled out....
