Topic: SWAPKINS March 3, 10:30a - 2:30p Burnsville
Hi all,
I've scheduled another SWAPKINS
March 3, 2012
10:30a - 2:30p.
Mary, Mother of the Church (look for this sign)
Room: The Mary Center (on the lower level)
3333 Cliff Road
Burnsville, MN
There is excellent parking, building access, and there will be carts available to bring in your swap-ables and take your goodies home. Tell everyone you know! Forward this email! The event just gets better with every person who comes.
------
Do you have clothes that haunt your closet - the clothes that don't fit quite right? Or maybe they do fit, but you don't feel great when you wear them because they aren't your style, or you just don't need them? Would you really like something new to wear? Maybe you've changed jobs or gained/lost some weight and you need some clothes, but you don't want to spend a lot to get something new?
COME TO SWAPKINS! We will have tables and clothes racks loaded with clean clothes in good condition. Clean out your closets and bring clothes to share. Check out what we've got and take home what you like. NO MONEY IS EXCHANGED. We will have men's, women's and children's clothes - everything from casual clothes to dressy. Also outerwear and accessories. The mix is different everytime, but it's always good stuff!
It's hard to explain how much fun it can be to bag up and get rid of clothes. No garage sale tagging! No bargaining with a consignment shop. Just bring them and *poof* they're gone and you KNOW they've gone to a good place.
It's hard to explain how much fun it is to walk into a great big room full of clothes and pick up anything you like and take it home, AND IT'S FREE.
We need bringers (who will bring things to share) and takers (to 'shop' the shared stuff). You can be one, the other, or both! It is not required that you bring anything to the event to take anything away. Everything at the event is free.
Email with questions. See you there!
Jen
P.S. If this note was forwarded to you and you'd like to be added the the email list, send a note directly to [email protected] with your name and email address.

SWAPKINS is a community event that began in 2006. Participants bring clean, clothes in good condition. The clothes brought in are placed on tables marked with sizes. Then attendees “shop" the tables of clothes with sizes that they can use. All remaining clothes are donated to charity. No money is exchanged.
This event is typically scheduled every 3 to 6 months. Most participants are from the Twin Cities area, but some do come from outstate Minnesota and Wisconsin .

Topic: RE: HELP FAST!!! PLEASE!
I understand you are screaming out for help, but this is not the right place for you to seek it!
You need to go to the Mayo - by ambulance if need be, they'll get you seen quicker than if you just stroll in.
I'm curious, have you taken any form of calcium supplement since your RNY?
And your suicide attempts - were they relative to your physical health and bone issues?
Please seek help where you can find some actual, substantial help - not on a message board online!

I so need to know the name of a doctor at Mayo. I live near Mayo or LaCrosse WI and I need a revision. I keep losing weight. 5'2" and 96lbs.
I am weak and want to die.
I am breaking bones. I cannot eat sugar or milk products so I eat salad. My reg Doc wants to put a feeding tube in me and I dont think that is the right choice.
My RNY was done in 8/1/06 and the doctors in LaCrosse WI do not want to see me apparently cuz when I was in the hospital there the doctors called for him 5 times and he never came!
I have attempted suicide 3 times and the last time almost succeeded.
I go to a Psychologist and the other one. I forget things. I have shortened my life. They say my bones are like an 80 year old and I just turned 50 in December. Please if I can get a name of a good Mayo doc SOON before I give up!!! I hurt so bad!!
I am always nauseous.
Something is not right!!
Anyone please help!!! PLEASE!

The team password is coffee.

OK - trying to register. For some odd reason, it is demanding that I put in a team password. If this is something you cannot share on this board, please PM me that info.

Topic: RE: Monday morning rolls around again!
Thanks, Darla. I appreciate the pep talk, and I do truly hope I am building muscle. My clothes are fitting fine (not getting any looser, but not tighter either.)
I guess I just have this fear that I will slip back into bad habits, so I need to keep the pressure on myself. As Kim said, we are always still addicts. I KNOW that I am a food addict. I can feel those bad habits creeping back, and sometimes I give myself permission to let them, by using all the exercise I am doing as an excuse. "You ran five miles today, you can have a cookie."
I probably can have that cookie. What I can't do is have five cookies!! That's what I would have done before, and I want to make sure I don't start doing it again. :-)
Ran 7 miles today, and had protein first for supper, so I'm on the right track. Have a good week, everyone!

Did it occur to you that you just might be gaining MUSCLE? Muscle weighs more than fat, and it seems to me you are working out more than the average WLSer (well, at least more than ME!!)
I'm not suggesting you skip the weigh-ins, I need to get on the scale more frequently myself. But pay close attention to how your clothes are fitting. I know that before WLS, I wouldn't have been able to tell if I gained or lost TEN pounds. Now, before I even get out of bed in the morning, I can usually tell if I'm up or down even HALF a pound. Which sounds ridiculous, but I've tested myself, and I'm almost always spot on - not about HOW MUCH, but at least whether I've gone up or down.
We women fluctuate a LOT over the course of a month, a week, hell - even a DAY. If you are COMFORTABLE with the way your clothes fit and the way you look (DRESSED... I know a lot of us aren't at all thrilled with the way we look NEKKID), then lighten up a bit on yourself and realize you will not lose every day. You will show gains every now & then. As long as you stay within a relatively small range (mine seems to be about 5 pounds), YOU ARE MAINTAINING.
Hug yourself for me, k?
