Anyone have info on this doc's bariatric history?  % of surgeries that are bariatric?  # of bariatrics in one year?  Or a web site where I can get this info.  Thanks to everyone.

This site has profiles for each of the doctors, but I noticed the one you are asking about hasn't completed his stats at all.  Thats too bad for you. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+p rofile+Christopher+Edwards+qhq.html Here is an example of my surgeon's that shows he's done 3,000 surgeries, etc.  Perhaps when you talk to their office you should recommend they get their profile up to date. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+p rofile+Roger+De+La+Torre+fbt.html

Dr. Edwards did my lap-band on 2/19/07.  I have nothing but good things to say about him.  Sorry I don't have the statistics you're looking for but I think if you read his patients reviews, you'll find everyone seems to think very highly of him.  I've had nothing but a positive experience w/him as my doctor and surgeon.

I am involved with Dr. Edwards' support groups and the St. John's Bariatric Program.  Dr. Edwards is very kind and caring, and a technically gifted surgeon.  Through my experience in leading his support groups, I have only heard positive feedback and comments from his patients.   In addition to Dr. Edwards, Mary Trampler, the Bariatric Nurse Coordinator of the St. John's Bariatric Program, is an experienced nurse of many years and is very dedicated to the Bariatric Program and her patients.  Katie Waldron, the Behavioral Health Specialist, is committed to pre/post-op bariatric patients and has an extraordinary understanding of food-related issues and food addiction.   Dr. Edwards is experienced in performing both RNY and Lap Band procedures, and runs a comprehensive bariatric program.   If you have any questions or would like additional information, feel free to contact either Mary Trampler, Bariatric Nurse Coordinator at 820-3800 or you can reach me at [email protected]. Thanks to everyone for the posts.  I called Mary and am waiting for a return call.  I think I have decided to go with him.  The other 2 docs I can choose from have done less than 12 bariatric surgeries each in 2007.   Dr Edwards is transfering to our office in Aug.   Thanks again for all the info.  Debby

Yes I am in NC.  According to the Office Mgr. we are getting a new surgeon named Christopher Edwards from Missouri.   Is it possible there could be two docs with the same name?  I'm sorry if I brought bad news to anyone.  I was just trying to prepare for my RNY.   So you do like him?  Hope to here back soon.

Hi Tara, No problem!  You can look forward to your post-op follow-up care with Dr. Edwards.  I confirmed that he is not moving, relocating, transferring, or otherwise leaving!  Our Dr. Edwards is here to stay!!!   Cathy
