Question for Dr. Price's patients
I am wondering if it is Dr. Price or certain insurance companies *****quire the psych eval and sleep study.
Also, if it is Dr. Price, does he require you to go to a certain place to have the psych eval and sleep study or can you go to any place you can get in?
I have my first appointment on Wednesday and am trying to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks!
Brandy
Hi there Brandy,
I am a Dr. Price patient and have about another 42 days to go out of the 90-day plan. Insurance required this if I had co-morbidities. If a person doesn't have other ailments, then most likely a person would have to do a 6-month plan!
Sandy told me I could visit my personal shrink. Due to not being able to get in post-haste, I decided to use their psych nurse. She was very nice. She just talks about the weight thing and various issues that could arise and I had questions to ask. I've read where other people had to take a test and all sorts of stuff. They had to go back for a second visit to get the results of the test. Weird. They just want to make sure you're not too crazy or depressed. Meds are okay. I saw Trisha, exercise physiologist; Thelma, the dietician, during the morning and then the psych nurse in the afternoon, all on the same day.
Wonder if your PCP needs to refer you for a sleep study or perhaps Dr. Price can. I believe it depends on the type of insurance you have too. Double-check all of this info with either Nikki or Sandy at Dr. Price's office. They are both very kind. He has a great office staff. Give them a call today!
Have you gotten a copy of your medical record from your primary care doctor from 5 years back? I'm trying to think of what else there is. Have you completed the medical health form from Dr. Price's website? You should have it all completed prior to going in. It'll make things move a bit faster for you.

You are talking about 5 years worth of sheets of paper depending on how often you went to the doctor. You will have to complete a form for release of inforamtion. Your doctor's office might use an external company to copy your chart. I spent almost $60.00 for the copy of the chart and postage to me. I just handcarried it to his office when I went for my consult visit. Call your primary care office and see what type of arrangement they have regarding release of information to another physician. You may luck out and someone in the office might copy it and mail it to Dr. Price. Hope this helps.

It was my understanding all I needed was a page from the doctor's notes for one visit a year for 5 years. Sure hope that's all. One doctor told me there would be a charge but I said all I needed was a page from each year and she did it at no charge. I did ask if the notes should be send to Dr. Price's office and I was told to have them sent to me. I plan to turn mine in April 30th when I have my last visit with Thelma and Tricia.
I believe the psych eval and the sleep study are requirements of Dr. Price. My insurance required a 3 month diet and exercise plan but not a psych eval or sleep study.
