A little bummed.....but not too bad.
So, I got an appointment to get fitted for CPAP. It's not until July 14! I was pretty disappointed because I have all my requirements in to Dr. Price so they just have to submit them to my insurance and I wait for approval. I was hoping to get the CPAP and start using it well before my surgery. Seems like now I may just get it right before surgery, depending on how long it takes my insurance company to approve.
I guess I"m not too upset. I just need to have the surgery this summer as I have a busy school schedule in the fall and it would be hard to work it in. I will if I have to though. I just want everything to happen right now and am having a hard time being patient.
For those of you on CPAP, does it really help you sleep and do you wake up not feeling tired?

Brandy, sounds like we're both in slow motion with our surgeries. I have my CPAP and supposed to get used to it before surgery. Honestly, I don't like the thing at all. The way I sleep, part on my side and partially on my tummy, it presses into my face and is uncomfortable. About 3 a.m. I take it off. Since taking Ambien, I sleep very well. I stop breathing when I'm on my back so I do need it for the surgery.
DH has one too and although he says it's not comfortable, he is wearing his all night and feels much better.
My insurance bought both units rather than renting them.
Too bad you can't get fitted now, but the way Dr. Price's office is dragging their feet getting my insurance filed, it may be next year before we are scheduled.

Hi Brandy! I have had my CPAP for about three years, thanks to my primary doc getting me in for the study after hearing about my symptoms. I fought it like many......only used it when I had to.....and then started using it this past winter and now can't live without it! My sister told me when she visited in March that I was just so much more alert and crisp after sleeping and using my CPAP....so it does work, and eventually you get used to having it connected and on throughout the night! I'm hoping and praying that after my surgery on the 30th of this month, I'll eventually get away from using it. But, until that time, I'm glad that I have it and it is so much better on your system if you use it. Best wishes-----Shelley
