Do you think it'd be okay?

I'm feeling great! I am having no problems getting in fluid or protein and have held down all my full liquids (puddings, cream of wheat, soups, etc.) Today I went out to Applebee's and ordered broccoli and cheese soup. It had chunks of veggies in it, but they were so soft I could mash them easily with my tongue. I was nervous, but it went down and stayed down fine. I have this great temptation to try some soft foods like cheese and some refried beans. I'm just really ready to get more protein from my foods. So, should I go ahead and give it a try or wait it out till I'm officially two weeks post op. (Monday).
My thoughts are that I could try it and if it doesn't go down well, I just won't do it any more until I've healed more.

THoughts?

you probably could and probalbly there would be no problem BUT-------- what if??? they cause you to throw up and since you arent healed well it tore someting or such. Now more than likely it wont but why chance it. Dont push the envelope Brandy honey....that sort of attitude will cause you to taste and try sugar and starches and carbs etc etc. that you shouldnt have. you can have things like the broc and cheese soup , just need to blend it first , i know it was soft but what if ????  Love you want you to love you too cause you are awesome so hang in there 4 more days , it will just taste that much better , or could be vrery gross to you who knows. just please wait. I know you will probably get this email from someone that they ate this and they ate that but they were lucky. your new pouch is very young and tender right now . think of it as a new born baby and you need to feed it like you would a new born baby. make sense??

As a patient of Dr. Price and having had many chats with Thelma, I would say follow the plan you were given.  That's great that you're ot having any problems getting liquids down.  I had to sip liquids really slowly for more than 2 weeks.  At 6 weeks I'm just now able to really swallow liquids really well.  Still having trouble with some foods but it's getting better.

Wait until Monday.  You don't want to ru**** and get sick.

Okay. You guys convinced me to wait. I know you all know how hard it is. I just keep reading posts about what everyone is eating for their meals and I am so looking forward to having some actual substance besides pudding and/or soup. I shouldn't complain. I've been given this awesome tool and you're right, I need to take care of it.

Thanks for setting me straight and waking me up out of "food envy."

I hear alot of ppl including my sister ate blended refried beans and was good.  Supposed to water them down with some chicken broth or whatever your choice and blend.  Sounds gross to me but im gonna try it once I get the go ahead for full liquids or soft foods.

I know. I keep hearing people say they lived on refried beans with some cheese and ff sour cream on top and that sounds so good to me. I've really been craving Mexican type food. I found this awesome soup that was cheese chicken enchilada and was low carb. I blended it up and it was soooo good! However, now I can't find it at all. It was by Progresso.
