I never actually met Dr. Follwell but he did assist Dr. Richardson during my surgery.  When I had my surgery, they always assisted each other during surgeries.  I was happy with everyone in NewStart/St. Alexius.  Sorry I can't be much help other than that.

Topic: Happy Birthday Jan
Hello Jan and all,

Thought I would jump in here and wish Jan a very Happy Birthday..It is cold today in Sedalia MO but is fixin on gettin colder. Come on spring. Not looking forward to all the snow we are supposed to get.

Jan have u heard that Dr Hornbostel is leaving. Its a sad day for Sedalia, he is one of the best docs around. He is moving his practice to St Joseph. Lucky for the people up there. He is just going to do bariatric surgery.

I have been having lots of problems with my darn back lately. Makes it hard to walk or do anything but I keep trying.

I know you are very excited about your trip, send lots of pics back so we can all be jealous of you basking in the sunshine and warmth...lol

Have a good day everyone...

Topic: Open WLS support groups in the KC area?
I'm going through the process of getting a revision from a VBG surgery from 1998.  I believe the surgeon I will be using is out of state (AZ) because I just haven't been able to find any real experienced revision surgeons in Missouri or Kansas.

So, that leaves me without having a "local" support group and was hoping to find out if there was one in the Kansas City area that was open to anyone going down the same journey.  I am looking to have the Sleeve done.

I really would like to connect with some folks in the area as I am single and have no family here.  This website is good, but getting to know some locals would also be good.

Thanks for your help.

I can't recommend a surgeon with Cox but having a hernia repair and tummy tuck at the same time would be a great idea and some of the cost could be covered by your insurance.

Topic: update on my brother
I just spent a week visiting my brother and he is slowly improving . He is able to walk some with assistance but his left hand still has no movement. He is left handed. Please pray his next surgery will improve his chances of regaining use of his hand.

Topic: RE: Happy Saturday MO Peeps!!!
Don't worry Momma Jan, I watch my drinking.  I'm well aware of the empty calories not to mention the fact that I get real drunk real fast.  I would have to say this is the first time I've had an alcoholic beverage in almost 2 years.  Since Michael was diagnosed with liver disease, drinking alcohol is not something we engage in (not to mention it's not good for me either).  But it was just one of those nights.  I only had a couple and trust me, that was all I needed.  Thankfully we were in our own living room so I only had to walk to the bedroom.

Sounds like you got some some things accomplished.  Oh you get to go through this next storm before you leave. Lucky you, hehehehe.  The news here in St. Louis is saying this one is going to be a cross between the ice storm of 2006 and the thundersnow blizzard of 1982.  Sounds like we might get up to 8 inches after getting 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of sleet/freezing rain.  We will be buckling down here in the house.

Thanks for the congrats.  I am pretty proud of myself.  You are right, it does prove that even this far out our tool can work for us if we let it.  Hope everyone had a great day and is ready for the crud we are getting ready to have.
