Topic: RE: FLW, St Robert, Waynesville area WLS Group
Thanks Lana,
You are so right, it has made the world of difference for me I know and having more options is nice. I know sometimes I dont have much to say during group, but there is never a quiet moment either. Sometimes I just like to sit and listen and take in what other people are doing or have done and see what areas I can try or improve in. It helps keep me on track so much more than when I try going it alone.
With each of us being so different having more people with different views and ideas is a wonderful thing. Especially when you are having issues or just need fresh new ideas.
Having WLS is like so many other things in life. Until you are going through whatever part of the journey itself, you dont quite understand and it is so nice hearing from others at the different stages.
Thanks for your input.

Mary,
I attend Circle of Friends in Springfield but I wanted to add to your post to tell people in your area that I believe group support after surgery is one of the most significant ways to insure continuing success. It is a place to share good and bad stuff, ask questions, cheer on newbies and people waiting for surgery or approval, and learn the problems and pitfalls from veterans. For me it is sort of AA for people with weight issues. We can celebrate our victories and mourn our singular or group problems. No one, except another WLS patient, can quite understand what we go through. That makes us an exclusive group with great experience to share.
Do yourself a favor and attend as many group meetings as you can. I know for me it's a lifesaver.
Hugs and loveys,
Lana

If I'm not mistaken, tonight is the Circle of Friends meeting at the Library Center on South Campbell in Springfield at 6:30. I'm going to be there so if this isn't the right day/time, let me know so I won't sit there alone.
Hugs,
Lana

Topic: RE: Bariatric doctors near Fort Leonard Wood?
Hi Tina,
I know when I was looking for a surgeon there was one they would use in Springfield but after doing my research on docs and their track records I found that Dr Hornbostel was the best & his patient reviews were nothing but great!!!! That is why I chose him. Granted I am sure there are other wonderful docs out there. But if you want great personal attention everytime you need it he is WELL worth the drive. Every time I have had an appt I always see him personnall & his nurse Margie, They dont bounce you around. He always sits and goes over my file & past issues & addresses any current issues. I know others who have been to other docs & they rarely see that doc on their pre visits & post visits. Me I like knowing my doc takes the time for me & is there when I need him.
You are more than welcome to attend our WLS group here in Waynesville & FLW. When she can we have a registered Dietician who attends. She is amazing and our conversations with the group are great too. We continue to grow each month and have folks who are in all stages of their decision / surgery and various types of surgery.
I will be posting on here the upcoming meetings today. Hope you can attend one at least it would be great meeting you.

Jo thanks for doing the post today....i really appreciate it.
You know i will tell you about worrying about stuff....i found that not much of the stuff you worry about really happens and then you just wasted all that time worrying lol
When we go to Ecuador we are going to really look and find the prices of everything and see if it would pay us to ship our stuff. I think i can replace stuff for less than what itwiffll cost to ship and not have to worry about stuff getting broken. we will see.
